Stay away if you can avoid it
We got to the hotel at about 11 pm. My sister had paid for the room for our Christmas visit... two nights. Their ad in the telephone book says "Satisfaction Guaranteed, New Rooms." I didn't have high expectations and I wasn't disappointed. The layout of the room left a bit to be desired. As someone had mentioned before, the doors were a little tricky to get into for the first time. One door is the outer entrance to two rooms. I might add that the entry way wasn't lit very well inside the first door. The door itself was an issue. From the outside, it looked like a standard keyed knob with a deadbolt. The deadbolt was basically a dummy lock. The knob won't turn without the key, and heaven knows if pushing the button on the inside of the knob does anything. There was no chain or other type of lock that allows you to open the door part way.
The layout of the room was odd. The one side of the bed was perhaps a foot away from the front wall. That in and of itself wasn't too big a deal, but invonvenient for two people. The floor was also uneven and the one time in the night I got up to use the bathroom, I nearly stumbled right into it.
The window treatments were bad as well. Towards the back of the building, the one drape was tacked up to the space around the window. The front window had a length of fabric folded in half then hung over a curtain rod like you would hang a towel on a clothesline. The cracks of visible light coming in around the air conditioner didn't help things any either (keep in mind this is in December).
When we left, we got to the office and there was a sign that said they'd be there at 9 am. It was 9:30 when we were trying to leave. Granted, it was Christmas day, but at a hotel/motel, the owners need to understand that there are times when you need to work on holidays. I would expect someone to be available at the desk 24/7.
