Howe Caverns, Howes Cave

What a dump. Filthy, stinky, old and gross. My kids were begging to leave. We were shocked and don't know who could have possibly written anything good in their review.

It was a perfect escape from our workday lives.My husband and I had not been there since we were kids. We loved the tour and hotel there during their off season rates. The place is a welcome comfort if you need some peace and beautiful view quiet. Wow October is the time to enjoy yourself at Howe , beautiful trees and fresh air. it is great to travel off season and stay at such a clean pleasant place. The beds are firm , beware! but allin all a great fun time.

Very clean and huge. In fact, the sink part of the bathroom could sleep 2 kids in sleeping bags! We had the 2 dbl. beds with micro and fridge. I would go there again. We took the candlelight tour of the Caverns and it is awesome. We went to the local cemetary where the view is great, a County fair and a trip to Middleburg which was fun. All in all, a wonderful time. Disliked nothing

We just got back from our relaxing vacation. The Howe Cavern and their motel is in such a beautiful location. The motel was clean and the 2 double bed room was larger then we thought. There is a refrigdator/microwave in the room. Bring your own breakfast because the small muffins, coffee and oj in not enough. And the seasonally on grounds restaurant closes at 7 and is not open for breakfast, (and the food was terrible anyway). We stays for 2 nights, going to Cooperstown one day and the caverns the next. Take the scenic drive to Cooperstown, and don't forget the visit the Iroquis Indian Museum near the caverns.

We really enjoyed our visit to Howe Caverns. It was very educational, but not recommended for small children due to going into the cavern where the temperature stays at a constant 52-degrees year round. Even if you aren't into rocks, this is truly something to see!!! We visited Cooperstown prior to going to Howe Caverns and there is a shop on Main Street in Cooperstown that sells discount tickets for the cavern.
