Not a Place for Wine Tasting
By Bearhugger, 07/13/09
After wine tasting, we asked if we could buy two glasses of wine to drink out at one of their picnic tables. No, we had to buy a bottle. Fine, we're used to that, so we bought a chilled bottle of white wine, 5 other bottles and cheese and crackers. After purchasing that and indicating our intent to drink it outside, we asked if they would open the bottle. Nope, we had to buy a corkscrew and do it ourselves!!! Nor would they let us borrow two glasses. Forget about complimentary use of a cutting board, a knife and plates. This is NOT what I expected, especially after purchasing $115 worth of wine (their best). I've been to over 100 wineries, and this is the first time this has happened. I was stunned and left feeling cheated. Would I go back? For the view only, I would never buy anything from them again.
