Unbelievable

My husband & I stayed here while I was 7 months pregnant with my sister, her husband, and their 2 year old daughter. We checked in to the owner being overly relieved that this was their last open weekend of the year before closing for the season. That made us feel extremely unwelcome. They tried to charge us $15 more a night than their website listed. Our suite had no heat.
The carbon monoxide detector went off on our second night at midnight after we had been asleep for nearly two hours. The owner told us to "take out the battery & go back to sleep" since he was assuming that the battery had simply gone dead. With a 2 year old little girl, and myself very pregnant we demanded that he replace the battery. After another phone call, and 35 minutes later he finally did. He then said that if we had called the fire department, he would have charged us $500 for the fee they would charge him! (Its a volunteer FD, so that is untrue that he would be charged). He was completely unapologetic about the entire situation!
