Wonderful, relaxing vacation spot
Lakeview on the Lake is a true gem. My family and I recently spent a few days there, and we look forward to a time when we can return. Most would say that watching the sun set here is the number one attraction, and it is fabulous. However, I think that is topped by the hosts, Kelly and Demaris. They were accommodating, and extremely helpful in answering any questions you might have. My family was split up between Annie's Retreat and the hotel rooms. Annie's retreat is modern, well-designed, and extremely pleasant - it's a good place for a family with two or more children. The hotel rooms are quaint and rustic - the interiors and exteriors are all finished wood, and remind you of a log cabin. These accommodations fit perfectly with the aura of the location. The pool is well-kept, is a great place to spend the day relaxing with family or friends, and we spent hours there. The hosts have a plethora of board games you can check out to pass the time, as well as volleyball and bocce ball on the lawn. The location is a wonderful starting point for day trips to local wineries, Presque Isle State Park, or even Niagara Falls. Make sure you get back from the wineries early, though. The way to end the day is sitting in the Adirondack chairs, sipping a glass of wine, and watching a fabulous sunset. A visit here reminded me to stop and enjoy the everyday, simple pleasures of life that we often overlook or forget. Go with that in mind, and you won't be disappointed.
