Nice place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/20/10
We have been staying at the Portside, when we stop at Brookings either going up the coast or returning to California, for at least 8yrs. We have always found it clean, the managers and housekeeping have always been polite and professional. The view may not be the photo perfect some people require, however it is a working harbor and that is what you see, gee how real is that. Kate from Rocklin Ca

Don't waste your time or money
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/10/09
The RV park is the most misleading place I've ever stayed in almost 10 years of RV camping. It is more like a senior mobile home park than an RV park. Kids were not welcome and residents acted as if we were intruders in their neighborhood. Their are wide spaces and narrow spaces. We were given a narrow one even though there were plenty of wide ones available. Not even enough room to put a picnic table between the RV and the next space.

Portside....not really!
By kellyp374, 8/18/09
Portside RV Park is across the street from the port...it is a small cement and gravel park with more residents than available RV spaces. There is no privacy and you are literally inches away from the RV next to you. There is no grassy area to be found and no place to let your pets go for a walk...or do their business. The restrooms were clean but you have to pay to take a shower...a little ridiculous I would say! You are better off staying at the Beachfront RV Park which really is port side and at least offers a nice view of something other than the RV or resident next to your space.

Portside Suites, Stay At Own Risk
By JohnW, 4/11/08
The rooms are very nice, though the view is disappointing and doesn't live up to the website's description. Even in the upstairs room there wasn't a view of much of the ocean, and I never could spot the river that there was supposedly a view of. At $130 a night off-season this was neither the best nor worst deal, but the room was so nice and the spa so enjoyable it felt worth it. UNTIL. The next morning we went out for breakfast. After being gone for about an hour we returned to our room to find that a $65.00 bottle of perfume we'd had on the bedside table was now missing. We searched the room high and low even though there was nowhere for it to have gone, then went down to the desk to talk to the person working, who turned out to be the manager, who did not seem at all concerned that this item had gone missing while we were at breakfast and they'd been through housekeeping. She said she'd talk to the housekeeper and get back to us. She never did so we went back down, told her we'd be leaving for a few hours and that if it turned up could they please just put it back in the room. Of course, when we returned it was not back in the room. The manager had left early, leaving the high school housekeeper who'd been working there 2 months in charge of the front desk. The manager had also left a full page nasty letter for the next person on shift saying our room had been trashed and they hadn't even gone into the bedroom and "she didn't know what we wanted." We took the other person up to our room to show her that it was not in fact trashed, and since the spa towels had been changed and the blind NEXT TO THE TABLE WHERE THE PERFUME WAS had been opened when we left it closed that obviously they'd been in the bedroom and within a foot of the bottle of perfume. We were told that opening the blinds was something the manager tended to do when she cleans rooms. Eventually I was able to speak to the owner, who was very nice, but promised to get to the bottom of it and never did. I received one more call where he said he'd like to look through the room again but it was in use and that he'd call me back after that to come to some resolution. He never called back. While this was not an extremely high priced item, it was not cheap either, and all in all, having to deal with the experience of having personal items disappear from your room while you're on vacation is not pleasant. You feel somewhat violated and it puts a damper on relaxing and enjoying yourself. So the stay at Portside Suites cost an extra $65 over the $265 we already paid for 2 nights, and while some of the staff and the owner were pleasant, the manager was unprofessional and uncaring and all in all the stay was highly disappointing. We obviously won't be going back, and will be strongly warning anyone against staying here.

Not what wepaid for!
By Ted, 10/16/07
We were rented a space at full price that had no sewer hookup. We were told it had a hookup, the only probem was you had to run a sewer hose clear across patio area & under the picnick table to reach it!!!!!! We were NOT impressed. This will probably never make it on this site but thats what happened to us!!!!

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/8/07
Stumbled on this place by accident (Best Western Full) Amazing ! Pleasant hepful receptionist. Delightful large airy rooms with comfortable high quality lovely furniture. Was very surprised @ the reasonable Rates expected to be much higher for quality that is offered. Will definately come again Highly recommend.

Portside Suites Brookings
By Travel Reviewer, 9/18/06
This place was very nice. For the price we paid, you could not find a better place in the area. If you like to fish, you are a short walking distance away from the charter fishing places. There was a kitchen area in the room with a refrigerator and microwave oven. You could cook basic stuff there in the room if you wanted. We went up the entire Oregon Coast and stayed at B&Bs and Portside Suites had the best hot tub out of all of them. Stayed in the Pelican Room. Awesome place with a so and so view of the dock area. If you're staying in Brookings, its an excellent choice.

Excellent Rooms
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/5/06
What I enjoyed about my stay here at the Portside suites is that I felt at home. The room was big enough to have a place to hangout and a place to sleep. I didn't feel like I was inclosed to one area. I enjoyed the Receptionist and she was very helpful. All around I loved staying at the Portside Suites.
