Mill Stream Inn, Coudersport

I would like to thank the Millstream for housing my company during our 5 month project. The hotel, cabins and office space provided unlimited flexibility for my crew and associated companies. We have another project starting in the spring of 2011, and I wouldn't even consider staying any place else. Thanks to Scott, Donna and staff. You made my work in Coudersport a pleasure. See you in the Spring!

While looking for a place to stay in Coudersport,I checked these reviews and found that all the positive ones originated from the same source. I guess I have to find out for myself.

I have been meaning to write this for some time now. By chance, I recently stayed at the hotel on the night they were having their annual customer appreciation dinner. Prime rib, lobster, shrimp, beer. Everything was excellent and free. I just wanted to thank Scott again. You are running a class act. What day is dinner next year? :)

I've stayed here 4 or 5 times over the last few years, most recently in Sept 2009. This is the nicest of the three area motels I've stayed in, and is more expensive than the others. Its probably the newest motel in the area. Everything was very, very clean and well-maintained. Very comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was spacious. Furninshings were modern but pretty basic -- bed, desk, chair, sofa chair, couple dressers. Room had a small fridge and microwave, but no coffee pot (coffee was available in the lobby). Morning breakfast bar in the lobby was good. Theres a laundy room for guests which was very handy on long stays. Even though the place was full, I found it to be very quiet. Its well back from busy Rt 6, and most rooms face the courtyard or adjacent properties. On the most recent stay I was a non-smoker in a smoking room (only room they had left) so I wished the window would open, but there was no way to open it or get more ventalation -- even so it was pretty tolerable (probably due to good cleaning). Some properties in the area give you more of the feel of being "in the woods" or at some resort, but this has a pretty basic motel feel to it, though a very nice one at that. There was a nice picnic area and barbeque out back, along with some walking trails and stream. The area is beautiful and scenic -- good for quiet getaways. Lots of parks and recreation areas within 20 or 30 minute drive. Wired high-speed internet service was very speedy; the wireless worked fine but was a little slow. Theres a public computer in the lobby, though I did not use it. They have a good website that will immediately let you see what rooms are available. Theres also a live "snow cam" webcam thats rather fun all year round. Altogether quite excellent for what it is.

In 2008 we stayed here during deer season and upon checkout inquired about staying again in 2009. We were told that we would be put in automatically for the 2009 deer season and that they would notify us about a month or two prior to the 2009 deer season. Well, we NEVER heard from the hotel about our 2009 stay and I called 3 times to the hotel and was told that the manager (Donna) would take care of it and call me back! Finally I called and spoke with a gentleman who said he was the owner. He then tells me there were no rooms available for deer season because they were booked with business people(gas and oil). So basically the hotel has no loyalty to their customers who had stayed there on numerous occasions over the years due to their greed. THEY COULD HAVE AT LEAST CONTACTED US TO LET US KNOW WHAT WAS GOING ON!! As the owner cockily said to me on the phone, "thats where the money is ". Well, once the gas and oil companies destroy the lands in northern pennsylvania and vacate the area, hotels like these will beg for customers again, but I can aasure them, IT WILL NOT BE ME OR MY FAMILY!

My wife and I stayed at your Inn August 24 on our trip across route 6—What a pleasant surprise to find in Coudersport!! We stay at Marriotts and Sheratons on a regular basis. I have not stayed at Marriott Court Yard as nice as your Inn…And it is just as nice as most standard rooms at other Marriotts and Sheratons. Your property is well maintained with friendly and helpful staff. Just had to share my thoughts—John B

Pleasantly suprised when I arrived. I would suggest they spend some money on their webpage and update their pictures, as the hotel is much nicer than what it looks like online. The rates are on the high end of what I like to pay, but as they say, you get what you pay for. Staff is pleasant, place is clean so I was satisfied. I will return.

The front desk people during the week really went beyond anything I expected of them. I was staying at the Millstream Inn and I needed to extend my reservation, but they were full. Not knowing the area, the man at the front desk called around and reserved me a room in another hotel, he took care of everything. Service like that is a refreshing change and it is the main reason my company will always call the Millstream first.

We were VERY pleased with our visit to Mill Stream. Everyone was extemely nice to us. Our room was immaculate. The continential breakfast was delicious and such a nice start to our day We could not have asked for a better choice for our stay. Only complaint was that the bed was too soft for us!

I hadn't been to Coudersport on business in over a year. Donna remembered me and called me by name. They just re-carpeted and the place looks great! I look forward to a return visit. This is "the" place to stay for a business traveler. James w/ URS Corp
