Essex Motel, Alturas

Our visit was August 24, 2007, Room 2 We aren't much for fancy, glitzy, mint patty-on-the-pillow, and, naturally, expensive, motels. We seek cleanliness, friendly staff, quiet, comfort, proximity to restaurants, and good value. The Essex certainly provided all the above. In addition, the in-room coffee brewer, fridge, and microwave oven were appreciated. We don't get through Alturas often but we'll happily stay in the Essex when we do.
