Wolf Hotel, Saratoga

We made reservations and were seated quickly with a complimentary flower. The hostess noticed our small child and immediately brought a coloring book and crayons! The lobster was tasty and the amount of food was great. Neither my husband or myself could finish our dinner. My husband had the prime rib and he said it was tasty. Of course you cannot go wrong with Mac and Chees which was our sons choice for fine dining. The atmosphere is really nice and romantic but still light enough to take children. We look forward to going back and maybe even staying there.

I had a wonderful time shooting pool with a great choice of micro brews on tap. I had crab and steak for dinner which was decent, the crab claw was frozen but upon speaking with the server a new steaming plate of crab was brought quickly with some extra crab on it. The atmosphere was wonderful with the friendliest people. I enjoyed my self very much.

We were a little worried when we walked in but to our delight it was great. The bartender/front desk clerk was great, locals at the bar were friendly. The room was very clean, perfect and homey. The bed was amazingly comfortable. We would recommend this hotel to anyone.

The Wolf is a neat place to visit and have an enjoyable meal with friends. The food was very good and met my expectations for a meal in an interesting place. No, it is not great food like I find in New Orleans or on the Gulf Coast. On a scale of one to ten the steaks are a 7 as is the other food. But, it is a fine place to have a good meal and have a good time. My favorite part of a visit is driving back to Grand Lake at night & stopping to look at the stars where there are no city lights. Fantastic! My question is: Why would anyone drive to Saratoga, Wy. to eat at the Wolf if money was an issue for them? Better they go to a Western Sizzler in their home town.

My wine glass was only half full. Since I paid for a full glass I asked for one. They charged me $3.50 additional. The manager said next time he would give me 6 oz of wine in a 5 oz glass. My trout was not fresh and not well cooked. I had asked if the trout was fresh and was told it was. Our server did not speak English very clearly. The manager told us this was not a white tablecloth gourmet reasturant, but the prices suggested it shouldhave been

This wasn't a spectacular place to eat, but the food is always good, very consistent. Never disappointed in twenty years I've been coming here. Excellent beef!

I have been to the Wolf many, many times and I consider it the best steak house in Wyoming. I also wanted to respond to the gentleman that complained of the salad bar. Of course, the best way for anyone to know, is to try it for yourself. However, it is not limited to one trip, the staff does not patrol the salad bar. (Not that it makes alot of sense to say it is dreadful and then complain that you can't eat enough of it....) Anyway - go for yourself, because the atmosphere, the food and the salad bar are all well worth it!

We visit friends outside of Saratoga quite often and always try to make a dinner trip in to the Wolf. The dinner menu is a little pricy, but well worth it. The prime rib is the best you will ever have, as is the cheesecake! The Wolf has a small town friendly atmosphere. We love it!

Charming...Charming.. A delightful hotel and eatery! BUT do order from the menu as the salad bar, even as the entree, is dreadfull. I was warned that ONLY one visit was allowed and the 6" plate just just soo small that one trip just would not do it.. The price was not that good either. So enjoy the menu but skip the salad bar!!
