Clarion River Lodge Resort and Spa, Cooksburg

I love this place! I don't know why it has bad reviews. Heck, if you are expecting a 5 star luxury resort, this isn't for you... if you need cell or internet service, this isn't for you... but for those that like friendly, welcoming staff, that makes you feel like family... then this is the place! They had me at hello. Everything about it, is just great. From the cute decorated rooms, right down to the cute bartender! (He better be there next year). We hail from Houston, Texas, and yes, we will spend our hard earned money to come back again & again. This beats the Vegas nightlife that I regularly love every year. I discovered relaxing & lobster is much more fun. Especially... The Pub. (Hi Justin). Seriously, if you need a quick description of what I loved so much... it starts with the long, winding drive along the lake. That view alone, is enough to love. Then once you meet the awesome staff & get to your room, you quickly discover that each room is decorated in a different motif. This may be a problem, as it had me wanting to knock on strangers doors to see theirs. Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner was awesome. Kudos to the chef. Canoeing the next morning was way more fun than I had anticipated. We don't canoe in Houston. We have Bayous, not lakes. I can't wait to return next year. Except, I loved it so much, I will be towing my children along with me. Hope they can handle 3 yr. old triplets!! See you next year, Clarion and Staff!!

I find the Clarion River Lodge to be welcoming, the staff warm and friendly, and the food is outstanding. The charm of the place is what brings me back each and every time. When we pull up the drive I feel like I am home. Not only is it a wonderful place, but memories are made there. The view from the Cabana is one of the most picturesque in Pennsylvania. I highly recommend the Lodge as a great get-away for folks of all ages.

We've been going to the Clarion River Lodge for years, but the last three times we were there, it was very disappointing. The place was not kept up, and the room we requested was not ready for us. The food is excellent, but overall accomodations are lacking. Also, is there a comfortable bed in the house?
