Laurel Villa Country Inn, Milford

We have stayed at the Laurel Villa on three different occasions and our experience has been positive each time. Carl and Janice are friendly and caring innkeepers. Chef Carl prepares great meals. The inn is lovely. It's like stepping back into another century. The inn is located in a quiet corner of Milford where two street end in the historic district, yet it is within easy walking distance of all Milford's quaint shops and attractions. The inn has a big front porch to sit and relax, a profusion of flowers at the front entrance, and a lovely English garden in the back. We stayed in the suite, which was comfortable and clean. The sitting room on the ground floor is lovely, and the antique bar adjoining the sitting room is great.

Milford's best kept secret is the Laural Villa. The food is excellent I suggest the steaks and french onion soup, the gardens are beautiful and it is away from the traffic on the main streets. Tourists go to the other places in town but the locals know where the best food is!

Amazing! This is the kind of place you always dream of and seldom find. All of its 19th century charm intact, with beautiful gardens, a welcoming bar and parlor, and a classic rocking chair porch. The food is wonderful, and the chef comes out to greet you at dinner, and then again at breakfast. Since the inn has been in his family for so many years he has an incredible knowledge of the area and its attractions. Our room was large and comfortable and totally quiet and peaceful. Janice, the Innkeeper, responded quickly and graciously to our every request. The Laurel Villa is a true bit of Americana less than 90 minutes from NYC.

The food was excellent & service was great. We stayed there for two nights & beds were very comfortable. Would definitely come back. Don't know want the other reveiw was talking about.

we were told there was a room waiting for us and when we showed up, they gladdly took our money. two minutes after checking in we were told to leave, because THEY had double booked the room. the rooms were small and smelly and the owners were unbelievably rude. we were left high and dry with no offer from the owners no help us. don't make our mistake, milford has a lot nicer places than this rat hole! VACATIONER BEWARE!
