Westbrook Inn, Westbrook

I mistakenly booked an online reservation on a Friday morning for that Saturday night, and called to cancel 4 hours later at 2pm, more than 24 hours before we were to check in. I asked if I could have at least a partial refund if the room was rented by someone else, and was told yes. However, the room was never changed back to 'available' on the website, even though I called back twice requesting they release the room. When I asked to speak with the owner, he mysteriously became "unavailable". Interestingly, the Inn never filled for this near peak fall weekend. When I finally talked to the owner the next week he gave me alot of defensive fast-talking, was very rude and condescending and made it abundantly clear that I had little recourse to recover any of my money - Not the hallmark of a supposed high-end B&B, at least in my book. The best part of my experience with the Westbrook Inn was that I never had to actually stay in this creepy place.
