Best Choice Inn, Dunsmuir

This place looks like its almost out of business. The pool is empty, restaurant closed, staff look sad. There's no coffee in room or in the lobby and no breakfast of any kind. I would say only stay here if there's nowhere else in town.

When I made the reservations it said the motel was located in Mount Shasta, CA not Dunsmuir. Imagine my anger when we could not locate the motel in Mt. Shasta. When I called the motel to see where they were located they said Dunsmuir. We drove through Dunsmuir on our way to Mount Shasta and were not about to drive back. This is false advertising and I hope you have correted this on your web site. Needless to say I will think twice before booking another motel on your web site. It took 30 minutes on the phone with your agent Melissa (AHS) to get this reservation cancelled and a full credit. This is very poor customer service.

Lessoned learned:If it is not in the AAA book there is a reason. A lot of deferred maintenance here. Room was clean. Front desk staff was nice. But, Air cond. weak and howled, freeway noise also, pool empty, restaurant closed, broken window, broken towel rack, broken soap dish, T.V was decent, car port broken supported by fence post. Good view of Mountain out back door but it looks like a run down dump area behind the south section of rooms. Also, no hot water and was not sure if phone worked as no dial tone. Felt compelled to write my first review. Others must have been by owners/staff. Stay at other or the rail car hotel, unique, stream, rest, & decent pool area (unfortunately we did not make reserv).
