Good Times!
I had taken my husband up to the dinner train for a surprise birthday and part of the surprise was to stay at a hotel. When I saw the pictures on the site, I knew that was the place for us. Cozy and rustic with a lounge/restaraunt attached. How convenient. Aubrey the hostes/owner is super fun and friendly and being a then new owner of the place, I could see the towns'people had taken a liking to what she and Scott had done to the place. The huge antique woodstove in the center of the lounge was perfect to cozy up to when comming in from the snow. The rooms were clean and exactly as nice in person as they were in person and the jaccuzzi was awesome, and just what we needed. And the prices were crazy afforable! At first not having a phone in the room worried me, but I quickly realized how perfect it was, because it meant complete privacy and no distractions! If we needed anything, Aubry was just a few steps across the way.(by the way, there is a payphone on the premises!) The location of the lodge is perfect. Its across the way from where the Shast Dinner train departs, Which is in a quaint townt to browse in. Its also located down the way from the golf course and right across the way from a gas station so you can gas up before you go home! I am looking forward to going back and hope to go up in the summertime to enjoy the outdoor patio.
