Shell Crest Motel, Wells

Ok, we were visiting family in Wells and they didn't have room for us to stay. We were looking for an inexpensive place to crash for the night so we called the Sharon (full) and the Shell Crest (she had one room left). We did not have high expectations but we paid around $40. Jennifer at the desk was pleasant but our room was atrocious! It had definitely not been vacuumed in awhile as there was a lot of debris on the carpet (especially around the edges) and a cigarette butt on the carpet. Many stains. There was salsa or ketchup on the wall. That was probably the worst part. The towels and bedding were mismatched and torn (hopefully it had been changed :/ ) . The beds were reasonably comfortable for an older property. The other tenants were playing loud music well into the night. The heat was a tiny plug in heater. The regular AC was out of order (not really an issue since it was winter) and there was a portable in the room that you have to put water in. The door had obviously been kicked in before and sunlight came in under the door and the front window was broken. The curtains were extremely flimsy and the morning light came right through. If the rate had been between $25 and $30, it may have been worth it but I've stayed in MUCH nicer rooms for this price. Never again!

They have obviously made alot of improvements since we were last through here. Very freindly management and good rates. Older motel but clean and freindly.
