I have stayed at the motel many times. Its a great placel, everything is clean and neat, the owner Kerry goes out of his way to make sure all the guest are happy. He goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is fun and comfortable. Great for kids, couples, families and retirees. The beach is 2 blocks away, and the center of town is a 5 minute walk to everything you need.
Visiting Mattituck is like visiting the best of America and it's 1960- quaint and sweet. The motel has 19 rooms and at least some of them are efficiencies with updated living room, kitchenette and a fresh bathroom. There are windows screens, ceiling fans and A.C.The grounds have beautiful flowers and lawn. Sure it needs a new roof -so what? (one is promised soon). The neighborhood is a delight and everyone says 'Hi'. The beach, playground and ball field are 2 blocks away. Kerry is very accommodating and likes to chat. He picked us up at the boat dock and even drove us to places for free when a cab was not available. Would do it again for sure.
My family stayed at the motel for a week and it was the best family vacation ever. My children learned to be good swimmers at the beach and we there was so many things to do. The motel has beautiful property and the rooms are very clean. Great place for a family!!!!!
My fiance and I stayed at this gem of a motel in Mattituk. It is at a prime location, with a relaxing beach 100 yards down the road, restaurants and supplies just a few minutes away, and several Long Island vineyards within a few miles. The Mattituk rooms are very clean and come well-sized at a bargain rate. Kerry, the owner and manager, was very hospitable and accomodating. He picked us up at the train station, gave us great pointers on restaurants and vineyards, and even provided the charcoals for the BBQ pits conveniently located on the motel grounds. I would recommend this place to any person, couple, or group of friends seeking to relax on the beach, visit the Long Island wine country, or eat the local seafood.
My Husband and I have been going to the Mattituck for eight year's now and is our favorit vacation spot, the owner has always made our stay very comfortable, informing us of everything and anything we wan't to know or do on our vacation. The room or apt. is lovely and very clean, this year we brought our children and stayed in the cottage decorated shabby chic, we loved it! We are a close Family and have so much to do there either walking to the beach, boating, fishing, shopping, dinning out or just barbique at the Mattituck, relaxing. We look forward to being there again ! Great Spot!
Rooms were musty smelling, roof leaked, heater pilot light would go out during night, had to restart heater ourselves as the help did not know how to do it. Rooms are old, old, old. Owner displayed a dismissive attitude towards the problems and talked down to me as if I was dumb or something and then when asked if he would consider adjusting the bill for the stayhe would not consider any sort of compensation on the rate. Rather rude and dismissive in his mannerism and talks down to you as if you have no idea what you are talking about. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This motel is in a quiet area within easy walking distance of a town beach (no charge if you walk in). The rooms are very clean, and the owner is especially nice & helpful. The rates are very low. You can easily use this motel as your base if you're interested in doing some wine tasting. The walk to town (Lover's Lane) is a bit long, but manageable.
