Coming back in October

We just stayed at the Whitman Motor Lodge with my family. We had four rooms and 11 people. We were treated like royalty. Our rooms were cleaned - evan after we came back from the beach with a boat load of sand! Breakfast was great, but the main thing is the staff is exceptional. One day Diane even washed one of my towels that I had put on the floor so I wouldn't have to walk on all the sand we brought in. My grandkids were with us and they like to ask lots of questions and everyone was so nice to them. Don't hesitate to stay at this wonderful place.

The Best Place to stay in Long Island.

I love the place, and so does my hubby! We stayed here during the holidays, and beleive me it was great! I checked many other places in area, and they were either run down looking, and expensive. This great place is sooooo clean, that the owmer's check to make sure everything in the room is clean and comfortable. I think this place deserves a 5 star rating, because it is a busy traffic area, but yet quiet. The office is sooo clean also, they have a few table and chairs for people who want to come in anytime for coffee which is free and on all the time, also breakfast in the morning, which consists of fresh pastries and pancakes, waffles, bages, and cereals. The staff also makes sure that every need is met, whether it be extra towels or anything else, it is fantastic. I would advise anyone to go there and see how nice it is. W&M Upstate NY

Great Place

We are from PA. and were visiting family on Long Island. They recommended the Whitman Motor Lodge and were we pleasantly surprised. The rates were good, the rooms SPOTLESS, the people especially the owner was very helpful. We were so comfortable that we extended our stay for a couple of more days...The breakfast was terrific as was the free fresh coffee when we got back after midnight. What a difference in an operation when the owner is all over the place. We will definitely return.

Pleasantly Suprised

Due to High School graduation night accommodations were very limited in the area and I could not get a reservation at the places I normally book. I made the reservation at the motor lodge with a great deal of trepidation having heard the history of the place from friends and knowing it was on a busy road. Imagine my surprise upon arrival to find a very warm welcome a clean, comfortable and incredibly quiet room for such a busy area. I will definitely stay here again.

Pleasantly surprised

We liked the fact that this place was very friendly and clean..The rooms were spotless, we could not find any faults even though we were looking. The next morning while we were having our breakfast we saw the owner inspecting all the rooms after the maid had completed their job. This really assured our confidence and we will certainly return. Good experience at Whitman Motor lodge

Small facility, approx. 44 rooms but the cleanest place I have visited. Very comfortable Sealy mattresses, good continenal breakfast. Very friendly personnel. Tom Maninno & Wife

Great Place wonderful people!

My husband and I decided to stay here, because after checking prices and places in Long Island, most of them didn't appeal to us, and the prices were well over the $100 mark per night! This may not seem like alot to some people, but I live upstate NY, and I thought they were! Anyway, I checked out the Whitman online lst, then contacted the owner via email, he responded immediately, and described the premises and gave me a reasonable rate for a week! He also told me he would give me a microwave and refrigerator too, no extra charge! When we got there, we were not disappointed! The room was clean, roomy and warm. The bed was one of the most comfortable ones we ever slept in! The housekeeping staff did a great job, and anything you wanted they oblodged! The people working behind the reception desk, friendly and courteous! Of course, I must make a special mention about Andy the owner! He meets and greets you any time he sees you and talks with you, as if you were family! The continental breakfast too die for! French toast, waffles, pancakes, bagels, pastries and cereal, and unlimited coffee all day and night! All I can say, is if anyone wants my advise, go there! You will not be sorry! Tell Andy that Mary and Bill from Upstate sent you!!!
