We called in advance to see how much the room would cost and a man told us $55.00 a night. Then when we called, a woman said $95.00 for two nights. Then when we finally arrived, the woman said $95.00 per night. The place looks like a dump and there were bugs in the "rate display" box, so I couldn't even imagine what the rooms looked like. I was so disgusted I told the woman she better not charge my card and we left to find something else.

The other reviews are all truthfull. I hope we hadn't stopped there. Their rooms are not "clean" as they advert. - expensive (80+ dollars) - old linen and blankets, scruffy carpets. Towels were not white. - heater was way too loud, and only option was "too hot". Without the heater the room temp dropped to icy really quick. - small brown stains on pillow cases. bed bugs??? - hot water took about 5 minutes to happen after turning shower on. - and if you, for some reason, want your money back after seeing the room, they have a "no returns"-policy. Don't pay in advance without seeing the room first!

I found roaches, It smelled....worst of all, the "people" next to me were up all night having a "party" and I got no sleep....Shirley used to be a nice place....now its horrible.

my wife, aunt niece and i just spent a night at the smith point motel in shirley n.y., and it was horrible. broken plumbing, smelly, dirty, sticky, worn out, and all for $85/night. we were kept awake all night [1-6 a.m.] by two drunks who tried to break into my niece's room by removing the window screen. when we called the manager, who is behind a locked door and bullet-proof glass, all he said was "i know," and all he did was tell them to "be quiet." worst place i've ever stayed, including third-world and warring countries. really!
