Colonial Shores Deluxe Resort & Marina, Hampton Bays

We booked 2 rooms in a cabin for our annual "Girls' Weekend Away" in February of 2005. The place looked nice based on what we saw online. Don't let the pics on their website fool you! The place is a DUMP! Off season they house homeless people on public assistance. There were taxis in and out of the place and people all over, yelling going on in the cabin next door to us. We locked our windows! On top of that, our room was NOT clean, we slept on towels in the bed because there were crumbs and hair in the bed, the room smelled dirty, the bathroom had hair all over it (obviously it wasn't cleaned and sanitized by housekeeping before we checked in). After settling into the room and realizing we just paid over $900 cash for two dumpy rooms, we tried to contact management to demand our money back. There was nobody there! The next day, when they came back we tried to get a refund for the second night we were supposed to stay, they refused and only offered a credit for a free night's stay which is useless because the place was such a dump and that was why we left in the first place. Even as we were checking out, another homeless couple was there checking in! We ended up paying more money to stay somewhere else for our last night. Beware!!!!
