Hidden GEM!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/19/09
I go to the city a few times a year. I have stayed in everything from 1 to 5 stars. The Gracie Inn exceed my expectations as a budget priced Bed & Breakfast in Manhattan. It's country theme and coziness made it a great place to come home to at the end of a hectic city day. Quiet, cozy, an attentive staff that actually gave me great info on where to eat, and what was happening and where to go! Love it and the staff! Would recommend for anyone looking for a quiet & cozy place to rest, and that's all you need a room to do when you are filling your days with a hectic city pace. The breakfast was a great touch also, they actually asked me what I wanted, instead of just giving me what they had! I don't think you can find that anywhere in the city! I never got that treatment, even at the Four Season's. I will be back! Make sure to ask for 'Daniel' this guy knows things about the city that I even as a seasoned visitor of the city, didn't know! If you want a Great 'Italian' meal then head up to 'Arturos' about three blocks from the Inn.....Awesome!

Wow! a "Treasure Box"
By singlegal, 6/23/09
I needed a inexpensive space in Manhattan for 10 days and Daniel the new "Head of Household" was so great! Gave me a lovely room with kitchen. very cute movable flat screen TV. Internet. The service was just as good as I have had in expensive hotels in Europe. The staff could not have been more attentive. felt like a queen. They even let me bring my lil black poodle Candy!. Amazing service for this very low priced gem. Try it you will love it!

Everything I expected and then some.
By D, 6/10/09
I really like the kitchenettes as this hotel is right next to the best grocery store in New York City... Agate Valentina. However, their breakfast in bed is very nice, too! This is a great hotel if you want to get away from all of the tourist

would not comeback
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/31/08
location was great, but the room was not clean, and we were suppose to have a second bed, but we only had a very uncomfortable small couch. the kitchenette was dirty, crumbs, and food on the sponge and in the sink.

A Great Value
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/13/07
Charming small hotel. Small rooms, but we like the kitchenettes. Great value if you want to be on the upper east side. Not full service, of course, but fine.

Will Stay Again!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/16/07
We just returned yesterday from a four day trip to NYC. We stayed at the Gracie Inn. Our stay there was extremely positive. Upon our arrival, we were warmly welcomed at the front desk. It was a very quick process and we were asked what our breakfast preferences were. It was nice to have some choice. I ordered coffee, orange juice and bagel. My husband ordered coffee, grapefruit juice and croissant (breakfast always came at our requested 8am and was presented nicely and kept warm!). We stayed in a room for two people. Although, the room was on the small side, it was more than comfortable and clean. The room had a flat screen tv with more than enough channels and a closet, dresser and pantry for plenty of places to put your belongings. We never used the kitchenette, but you had many ammenities/supplies to make a lunch or light dinner if you did not wish to eat out. The bathroom was small, but again clean, and served us well taking quick showers in the morning before heading out for the day. The shower pressure was wonderful and hot water never ran out! Our room was always quickly tidied up as would leave our room by 9am each day and returned twice at 11am to find our room was already neat, clean and tidy. The bed was comfortable and the noise coming from the street was minimal. The walls are on the thin side as we could hear the tv and voices coming from the next room so be sure to be on the quiet side in the evenings! The inn is located in a great, safe feeling neighbourhood. You will need comfortable walking shoes to get around to the most popular sights in midtown. Central Park, the Met and Guggenheim are the closest attractions and they are about a 10 minute walk away. The subway (4,5,6 trains) are about 4 blocks away on Lexington and this will take you easily to midtown. Restaurants are a plenty right around the inn too. Checkout is at noon and we did not have to leave until 3pm. We asked to leave our belongings at the inn and this was not a problem. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would stay at the Gracie Inn again. We felt the rate was more than reasonable, especially since we were staying right in Manhattan!

Gracie Inn was fun!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/17/06
We felt like we were in someone's home, the room was comfortable, pleasant, and clean. Staff were always helpful. It was a pleasant walk to neighborhood restaurants and taverns, and of course, we enjoyed Gracie Mansion and the little park by the river, seeing the babies being walked by their nannies, and the everyday New York scenes. Not luxurious, but being retirees, it was certainly within our means, and a fun experience! Marie & Bob, Columbus NJ

Charming B&B Upper East Side
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/16/05
Turns out the Gracie Inn is a small, European-feeling pension, with continental breakfast delivered to your door, at the time you specify, each morning! The rooms are comfortable, although on the small side, but the full kitchen (yes, full) is wonderful, as is the access to lots of moderately priced restaurants. Yes, it's a few blocks from the subway, but cabs are plentiful, and the quiet is well worth it. The staff (who leaves in the evening) is gracious and accommodating. I'll go back!
