Avoid at all costs
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/12/10
It was the single worst motel I've ever, and my group and I left 10 minutes after we arrived to find another location. Torn carpet, torn bedspreads, mold on the ceiling, blood on the counter of the bathroom...I'd be difficult to dream up a worse room. Avoid. To add insult to injury, we were double charged and had to file a dispute with our credit card company.

LIAR LIAR
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/11/08
I was promised a wonderful stay at a historic family owned business. SOMEONE LIED! I was thoroughly disgusted with the rooms, the staff was rude and very insulting to me and my wife. Motel 6 is way better and you are gauranteed at least a clean shower and a toilet that works. I have had better meals at the ballbark. The restaurant was DIRTY.

2nd Time Staying
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/2/07
This was my 2nd time to stay here. All was as good as the 1st time I stayed. The rooms where very clean. The water pressure was the strongest I have ever seen. I have stayed in many places. Most of the time I stay at 4 & 5 star hotels. Although this is not a 5 star hotel, the people who run this place are 5 star hotel people. Till the next time Thank You,

Awsome place to stay and eat!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/11/07
Green Gables is my number one choice to stay at when coming into Lewistown because their rooms are not only neat and tidy but they are also affordable...which is hard to come by these days. Even though it is small and has alot of history, you can get a fine Italian meal that will blow your socks right off!!! The owners made me feel at home even though I was not...they welcomed me with opened arms.Even though not all of the ammedities are in the rooms, they are available if you just ask(ex:iron, iron board, blow dryers, coffee maker and even internet access). So if you are ever in the area and need a place to stay or even just a bite to eat, I would recommend Green Gables to anyone.

Sleep in your car!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/18/07
It was Penn State's homecoming weekend, so they raised their rates dramatically. The room looked as if it hadn't been painted since WWII. There were cobwebs everywhere. There was no shower head, which didn't matter because the water only trickled out. When we tried to bathe instead, we realized there was no stopper for the tub. The fluorescent light above the vanity didn't work. My wife and I had to prepare for a wedding. I shaved and she put on her makeup in front of the mirror, in the dark. I called ahead and asked for a refrigerator to store my insulin. I was put on hold while the receptionist "ask(ed) the boss". I was told "No problem." The refrigerator never arrived and when I challenged it, they denied ever getting the request. They denied all of our issues and never offered to give any kind of discount for their overpriced room. Two other families in town to attend the same wedding had similar issues. When they tried to complain they were told "If you don't like it, leave. We have 40 other people waiting for a room." If you're in the area and in desperate need of accommodations, just sleep in your car. You'll be better off.

You get what you paid for
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/11/07
There was no phone in the room, the room was dirty, the bathtub plugged while taking a shower, the service was awful. The room was dirty. On the second day an employee knocked on my door to find out who I was. No iron, no ironing board, no type of internet access. This was the worst hotel/motel I have ever stayed in.

There is nothing like a family owned bussiness. There family was so great they made us feel like there family. The rooms are very clean. The restaurant was the best food I have ever ate.

Already Booked my Next Trip There
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/31/05
The owners are down to earth people. And the place though is old it is very clean. I found the prices to be as good as anywhere. I can't wait ti get back.
