Stirling Guest Hotel, Reading

We had my son's wedding here and I can't gush enough about how wonderful it was!! There was meticulas attention to detail by a fantastic and friendly staff, the food was wonderful and plentiful and we all loved our dinner's. We all stayed (family and wedding party) overnite to incredible accomidations one room more beautiful and more oppulant than the other. Next day after wedding we stayed and had a scrumpius breakfast before departing and returning home. I HIGHLY recommend The Sterling Guest Hotel you would never regret it we ever have been told by many of the guest it was the BEST wedding they had ever been to!!!

Stirling Guest Hotel was the best ceremony and reception venue we could have asked for! The building and the grounds are beautiful, the food was delicious, and the staff are simply the best! We dealt with TJ throughout our wedding planning process, and he was so helpful. We were planning our wedding from abroad, and TJ really went above and beyond to help - the wedding would not have gone so smoothly without his help! He received our wedding flowers for us and looked after them until we arrived, he was willing to let us store some of our wedding decor beforehand as we had limitations with transport, he decorated the bar and the cake table with gold ribbon to match our centerpieces (although decorations were our responsibility), he also provided us with h'or doeuvres and drinks while we were having our photos taken during the cocktail hour, so we don't get hungry like most brides and grooms. TJ was also very responsive and promptly answered the millions of questions we had via email, which was a huge help when planning a wedding from overseas! Our wedding would not have been the same without the staff at Stirling, and especially TJ. Thank you for helping to make our day so special!

My fiance and I booked the Stirling for our July 2010 wedding 1 and 1/2 years prior. Yes, they have a no refund policy, but when we ran into financial trouble and still have 1 year before the date, the owner refused to even speak with us. It would have been nice to just be able to speak with him, let him know that we would like to see if he books the date maybe he could entertain at least 1/2 of of our deposit. The place is lovely, just ran into financial uncertainty and after this experience am being over careful of where to book our wedding.

We had my daughter's wedding recetion at the Stirling. It was an exceptional experience. The venue was fabulous, the food fantastic, and the staff went out of their way to ensure our guests had a memorable experience. We had out of town guestsstay at the Stirling and everyone was pleased with the service.

Staying at this hotel is like stepping back in time. It is restored masterfully. The food is superb. The owner is so charming.
