A fun little piece of Americana

Every hotel from Wells to Winnemucca was booked last night and so, exhausted, I rolled up to the Super 10 at 2 a.m. just praying they'd have a room for the 6 of us. One of the nicest people I've met in some time unlocked the office door and greeted me happily. Her main concern was that we'd have enough towels for all the kids in the morning and she went and retrieved 4 more.
The rooms look like they probably looked in 1940 except that they now have a mini-fridge and microwave. The air conditioner was in excellent working order (always important in NV). The room was clean. There was cable and free wi-fi with a strong signal and good speed.
You wouldn't stay here for comfort. We stayed because we were out of options, but we really liked the experience. I imagine it's representative of highway travel from 60 years ago and it made for a unique experience. The strength of the Super 10 is the couple who manages it.
The neighborhood leaves something to be desired but hey, it's Lovelock. You will be awakened at least once at night by a train that seems to be passing directly through your room. Overall though we felt completely safe, and I saw a regular police patrol through the parking lots of all the nearby hotels while I was unloading my bags.
