Great place with food so good you will be coming back again & again. Sit out on the deck in the summer or in the tavern room or downstairs dining room in the fall with a fire in the fireplace, the service & food are unbeatable.Affordable, good food, clean and friendly service. What more could you ask for....unless it's to see the photo album with the ghost pictures in it. Personally we have been going there 3 or 4 times a year the past few years and have yet to see one. Someday....

Great Ambience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/26/07
The Jean Bonnet is a wonderful setting, with a beautiful economical gift shop. The menu is extensive, but I have reservations about the kitchen. (I was sick the next day.)I stopped eating after one-and-a-half shrimp. They were fried into hard brown flat rocks. The food was lukewarm. The house chardonnay tasted like something out of a box. I was with a group who eat out together regularly. Our service was excellent. Just be careful what you order, especially if you have a tender stomach.

Great food, Great Beer, Nostalgic Experience
By stan, 01/03/07
This is a very cozy, intimate place to have a meal or a drink. The Dining room is very rustic and looks like you're walking back into a Tavern of 200 years ago. In the winter they have the fireplace going which adds to the warm ambience of the place. The food is reaonably priced and very good. They serve their meals on colonial style dishwear, which is unique. They have a great beer selection of hard to find PA microbrews. The tavern is located upstairs from the dining room and looks like a typical modern day tavern. For the overall experience having a beer in the Dining room is much more enjoyable unless you're looking to knock back more than a few pints and get hammered.

Highly recommended!!

This is one of, if not THE best place in Bedford to eat. The food is great, the service is fast and polite, and the atmosphere just makes you want to stay and never go home..that is, unless you're afraid of the ghosts that are rumored to roam the place.

We had a fantastic time at the Jean Bonnet. Our bartender, Nikki was hilarious and gave wonderful service. Our dinners were delicious, and well worth the money. Try the orange roughy!

One of Our Favorites!

Jean Bonnet Tavern is a wonderful dining experience! The food is not inexpensive, but it is well worth it! Chicken Marsala, seafood and Filet are great and the rumaki appetizer we had was delicious! Salad greens fresh and desserts to die for! Service is good although there may be a bit of a wait if busy. The fireplace and historical charm of the tavern make it a nice "special occasion" place. Really nice in the fall when the foliage is at its peak. The owners recently relocated an old log cabin from Fulton County. PA and rebuilt it on the property as a small gift/craft shop selling candles, prints etc. A nice day trip to Bedford for antiquing is made better with a delicious meal here!

Perfecto!
By Ryan, 10/15/05
This the best eating establishment I have ever set foot in! The ambience is excellent, and the theme of an old style tavern is very heartwarming. The food is flawless(esp. prime rib steak), and the prices are very low considering the food you get for your hard earned money.
