watch out for NASCAR on the mountains!

The road to Shelter Cove is about 23 miles from town of Briceland--up and down a mountain. I would not drive this stretch at night esp. if you are going there for the first time. The pass is not that bad, and by the 2nd and 3rd round, we got used to pulling over to let the NASCAR folks speed up and down the mountain. There are quite a few hairpin turns and then some straight stretches...we always stayed below the speed limit since we did not know the pass well.
Food-there is a General Store a few miles from the Inn. Not much in town. Buy food/drinks at this place or in Briceland.
Restaurants-not much happening in this little town for dinning/coffee. Most places are open for a very limited time each day if at all.
Fog-be prepared for foggy mornings that clear out closer to 10:30AM or later. Coastline is rugged and beautiful.
Inn-clean, we were greeted by a very friendly gentleman and his two 13 year old labs. There are dishes available, microwave, fridge...laundry.
Worth the trip in the end.
