We visit Hiawatha quite a bit and every time we're in town we stay at the Sunflower Motel. The owners are great, very friendly, and very accomadating. The rooms are older but they are nice, clean, and a lot of them have been remodeled and are even better. The prices for these rooms are very reasonable and we have yet to have a bad experience there! Very pleased with it!
I had such a lovely time at the sunflow motel here in hiawatha, KS. Such lovely employees here and they were just splendid. The beds and bathrooms were just remodeled and it just made it feel at home. I enjoyed every minute just sitting there watching t.v. Prices were excellent! The owner is just splendid and very conversational!
The Sunflower Motel in Hiawatha is a small town motel with a homey feel. When I called to make our reservation, Mary, one of the owners, was very helpful and full of information. Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly, given lots of information about the local eateries (including discounts!), businesses and directions to a flea market we were in town to visit.
Our room was clean, had a new mattress on one of the beds and contained a mini fridge and microwave. The AC unit worked well and we were right next to the ice machine alcove. Our stay was very pleasant and I would definitely recommend this motel if you are visiting anywhere in the area.
First -- the owners genuinely care about their guests, not just because we're paying to stay there, but because we're people. (Example: when I arrived, Mary was printing out directions for an older lady who had gotten lost, even though she wasn't a guest). It's obvious that their priority is to make everyone feel comfortable and welcome.
Second -- it's a great value. The rooms are clean and well-maintained, the beds are comfortable, and it has all the amenities most people need. No, it's not a 5-star hotel, but it does have a lot of charm and personality that the big-name hotels lack.
My husband and I stayed 2 nights the last weekend of April 2012. We loved our room it was very clean. Had a microwave and fridge in our room. Our bed was the most comfortable bed we had ever slept on in a motel or hotel. The owner "Mary" was a very sweet and helpful lady. And prior to our stay at the Sunflower our son stayed there for several months until he found a house. And he really liked staying there. We will be staying there again. I recommend staying
When my mom downsized her own nest, we needed to find a place to stay when we come to visit, and this is it! The owner has really done a wonderful job of renovating this vintage gem:
The owner really wants you to enjoy your stay, not just survive it.
Motel rooms don't get any cleaner than these.
The rooms are a good size, including the bathroom.
The rooms include a fridge, coffee maker, and microwave.
There is WiFi and cable.
The beds are new and extremely comfy.
Even though it's located on a state highway/the main N-S drag, the room is quiet.
The owner has done a lovely job of decorating, including truly effective blackout curtains.
The heating/cooling unit does exactly what you tell it to.
The Sunflower is walking distance from a grocery store and several restaurants.
The rates are very reasonable.
We'll be staying here whenever we're in town.
Mary was very friendly, went out of her way to see we had all we needed. Room freshly painted and decorated nicely, bath very clean, TV, refrig and microwave... we had a great visit but visit there to short... Close to Golden Eagle casino, priced right..
The Red Roof Inn Holton is just a short drive to Harrah's Casino, Hartland Park Amusement Park, Fort Riley Military
Base, museums and more. The hotel is only one mile away from the Holton city center, 32 miles north ...
