Home sweet home
By Douglas C, 02/28/08
Very nice facility with warm and friendly staff. Good food and fresh Starbucks coffee by a trained barista. Very nice experience. Rooms are modern with current finishes and, although sometimes small, nicely laid out and functional. We have stayed here several times and very much enjoy it! Wonderful beds also! You will enjoy too.

Good Value
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/08/08
Stayed 6 nights in room with a loft. It got below freezing at night and the heater worked well. Bed was comfortable though on the very firm side. Dinner at the in house restaurant was outstanding and reasonably priced to boot. Only a few gripes. If staying in the late fall / winter, the little rugs do little to hide the COLD concrete floor in the room. Only other recommendations is to change out the "wine cooler" in the room with a real fridge and have the dining hall serve dinner every night.

Fantastic!

Upon just returning from a wonderful weekend in Graeagle with Chalet View Lodge as my hotel, I will admit I was taken aback as to how wonderful this resort is. Upon arrival I was quickly greeted and brought to the check-in desk, which was quick, professional with just the right amount of friendliness. My room, a Loft Suite, was located on the view side of the resort - just spectacular! My room was large, beautifully decorated, and spotless. King size pillow top bed, beautiful delicious linens, gorgeous bathroom with a large tub - stocked with lots of towels, loft with trundle bed for my kids, flat panel television in the sleeping area, it was if it had been designed just for us. Their lobby and bar is exquisite, perfect for a relaxing drink. And their restaurant, The Grille – was just grand with fabulous service, fantastic wine list and food that was truly amazing. The staff and management at Chalet View Lodge goes beyond what anyone would expect and carries it all out with perfection. They pay attention to every little detail from remembering your name to your favorite Starbucks drink from their onsite store. Lets say that they do more than try – they succeed! I would highly recommend this resort to anyone and everyone and will definitely be back!

The Ultimate in Comfort and Elegance!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/22/06
We enjoyed a 3 day weekend at Chalet View Lodge and were thrilled with the accommodations. Like many people on this site, I travel quite a bit and have the privilege of traveling to 5-star resorts for business on a monthly basis. I'm happy to say this trip was for pleasure, and it didn't disappoint. Being early June our visit was still during their "quiet" season, so things may be a little different during the busy season Hotel Staff- Never in my life had I been treated so elegantly by front desk staff. Sleeping Rooms – A bit smaller than most resorts, but extremely well planned. Decor is surprisingly European which isn't my favorite, but it managed to work pretty well. And I have to say, after 3 days of mountain and western decor everywhere else, sometimes the room was a nice reprieve. Rooms were well cleaned, housekeeping was consistent. Most importantly, the rooms are very quiet. I confirmed that we had people staying on either side of us and I never heard anything bleed over from either room. This is pretty unheard of for me. The Spa at Chalet View- This is without a doubt the first or second best spa I've ever been to (Grand Wailea 2 years ago was previously my first choice) The spa prides itself on "customizing" to each person with no extra charges. I wasn't really sure about this leading up to it, it felt kind of Plain Jane to just reserve a "massage" without knowing what extras might be offered. But when I met with the therapist, we discussed what massage techniques, areas of focus and then they offered a paraffin foot dip, scalp therapy and choice of essential oils. I took them up on all three since there was no additional cost. My husband also commented that he felt very comfortable in the spa - it seems to be more "male friendly" than other spas I've been to, and the decor is also more neutral than most. Dining - We did not dine at Chalet View Lodge because there restaurant was fully booked. The food looked and smelled great. Be sure to make your dining reservations in advance. I can’t wait to return to the lodge and experience another revitalizing weekend.

Unpleasant Experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/06/06
We stayed 3 nights (canceled 4th night) at the lodge. The first morning we woke up with insect bites on our neck & legs. The 2nd morning we woke up again with more bites. Because we were well covered during the day, we knew the bites had occurred at night. We checked the room and found insects around the bed frame and floor. On check-out, we mentioned to the lodge clerk about the bites - his response was, "we don't have fleas up here"! Upon arriving home, we went to our physician who confirmed these looked like bed-bug bites. We emailed the lodge - no response. We then called and finally got a call back from Manager. She was very defensive, stating they don't have bugs in room, no concern for us or future guests. We asked for a small compensation (for doctor bills/unpleasant experience) which she agreed to credit us - 1-1/2 months later, we still have not received anything. An aside to this, the "fishing pond" was full of algae and very murky.

The Lap of Luxury
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/02/05
Chalet View Lodge is fabulous; the rooms and hotel are beautifully decorated. The service is fantastic: room service is 1/2 an hour during peak times (and the food was hot), the staff is extremely pleasant and very helpful. I can't say enough about it. We came back from our week there feeling extremely relaxed and pampered. Also made use of the onsite Starbucks Coffee store several times, it's a wonderful service. The food is excellent in the Resort’s Restaurant, don't miss out on the ice tea and the Rueben sandwich, also the cream of mushroom soup! Lunch is a better bet as the dinner menu seems limited. For lunch, go about 1 pm for a prime outdoor terrace seat that overlooks the Executive course and exquisite pool and spa. The hotel is in a prime location, near all the major golf courses. Make sure and spring for a view suite; the suite is just a little bit bigger, and if you're spending that much anyway, what's a little bit more. A bottle of champagne (not sparkling wine, good quality champagne) and a plate of chocolates and strawberries were left for us for our anniversary. Definitely worth the splurge for that special occasion. We are trying to think of a "special occasion" to go back next year. This hotel is a 7 star!
