RUDE OWNER
By CarolynG, 9/8/10
I stayed at The Old Chesapeake Hotel in the O'Neill Property. The suite was large, clean and well appointed. However, beware of the owner. My husband and I were in town Saturday, 9/4, to Monday, 9/6, for a wedding. We were coming back to the suite the first night and were verbal attacked and threatened by the owner of the property. The man did not give us his name – he just told us that he owned the property. The owner accused my husband and me of smoking inside the O’Neill building. The owner threatened to kick us out and charge our credit card a $200 fine. How could I be smoking inside the building when I am walking in from the outside? I offered for the owner to come into my suite and “smell” around. He refused. My husband and I could not believe how we were treated….that’s how you treat your guests? your paying customers? My husband and I were not kicked out – just threatened. At this time, our credit card was not charged. If it does, we will dispute it. DON’T STAY HERE…..this was a destination wedding and others stayed in other local hotels without incident. I would like to end on a good note. The town of Havre de Grace, MD was wonderful. It was very clean. Everyone, except the OWNER OF THE OLD CHESAPEAKE HOTEL, we encountered were very nice and accommodating. My husband and I rented kayaks and see several bald eagles. Every meal we eat was delicious…I highly recommend MacGregor’s.

Absolutely beautiful!
By LauraM, 1/24/10
We had to come to town for a medical emergency involving my son, and were not anticipating much since we didnt have time to do any research or even make the reservation ourselves. This place is stunning - absolutely beautiful. We will be back under more pleasant circumstances to bring the rest of our kids to this beautiful get away!

Was fun!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/21/08
Ate at Ken's Steak & Rib house next door which was great! Was told by bar tender that the Hitchcock house I was staying at was known to be haunted and that noises have been heard in the house late at night. Of course I didn't believe a word of it. Strangely enough I did hear unexplained noises from the second floor throughout the night such as boxes sliding slowly across the floor, chairs sliding, belt snap in the foyer. Would stay again.

Underwhelming
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/29/05
Overpriced and food is so-so. Had the poorest excuse for a Rueben sandwich. Crab dip ($10.00) was 99% dip and 1% crab. Potato slad and cole slaw among the worst I've ever eaten.
