Perfect Getaway from LA
I went to the Kokanee Cabins simply to get away from civilization and they more than delivered on that expectation. These cabins have the basics (bathroom, fridge, stove) but don't expect a TV or internet connection. There's a great grass area adjacent ot the cabins that's right in the middle of some towering trees and a stone's throw away from the river. I used the barbecue a couple of nights and talked about the history of the area with some other guests.
Another highlight from my stay was the excellent hiking the area has to offer. A quick hike up a dirt trail from the cabins and you encounter an abandoned home from the 1800's, which is in remarkably good condition (despite hints of being reclaimed by the forrest).
Lastly, the price was right - I think I paid about $60/night for a single bedroom cabin.
