Sugarloaf Mountain Motel, Virginia City

We got to stay in what was the old jail. It was a haunted room, which was good for us since we were in VC for a ghost investigation. Got the same room again. Hope to have ghostly visiters.

Love this motel and the owners! They are the best! Room was very comfy and cozy. We are Harley riders and travel alot and this was the best place we ever stayed at! You become friends with the owners...they treat their guests like family. We recommend it very highly! An absolute 10! Steve and Vicky Orange County Ca.

When you wake up in the early mornings the sun rises are so beautiful and fantastic I highly recommend staying there because the rooms are fresh and clean for a historic hotel

I was looking for a room in Virginia City and I called around to different establishments for prices and availability. The owner of Sugarloaf was kind and very informative. The room was clean and comfortable. Carrie walked us to our room and told us where everything was. For those of you that are wanting to stay is a "Haunted" location I would recommend staying in the rock building of the Sugarloaf. I believe there is 3 rooms in it. I stayed in #14 and had a few experiences and here they are, 1. I locked the door on my way out and when I came back it was unlocked, 2. The key was set far back on the counter behind my purse and at 12 am or so the key came off the counter and landed on the floor in front of the the sink, 3. The last experience that I had was the alarm clock came on around 2 am I had not set the alarm clock at all. when I got up in the morning I checked the alarm clock and it was not set to come on and if it was set to come on it would have happened around 12 am. I highly recommend this establishment it is clean and the owner is friendly and kind.

Our family loves to stay at the Sugarloaf! The people are very nice and accommodating. The rooms are small, but clean and nicely decorated. The price is very reasonable. And, location, location, location! Just walking distance from the Virginia City strip. What a great place to take the family!

We enjoy the location, the "at home" feeling. The owners make you feel very welcome. We like one particular room, each one has its own personality. We will see you soon.....

Stayed one night. The room was clean, the people nice. Store located on property was nice. Room was on the small size, but had a good nights sleep.

Quaint Motel with down to earth owners. We stay there every year for Street Vibrations. Wouldn't (won't) stay any where else. The whole town of Virginia City uses there little market where they carry everything you can think of including Donald Duck Orange Juice. Want a great place to stay? This is it!
