Me and my husband had an issue with our house. We are locals who just needed a place for the night. The room was really pretty nice. Plus it was like 110 outside that entire week and the AC worked GREAT! I have family visiting for Thanksgiving, I am going to highly recommend the Park Inn. (They even gave us pool passes to the city pool..pretty cool)
I have been driving trucks for years and years. I didnt even know the Park Inn existed. I couldnt tell you how many times I drove past it. Not anymore. It is a perfect resting point for me. I have convinced my boss to let me stay there instead of in Bloomington. It was $48 and some change. I learned its a local owned business which is a huge plus for me. The rooms were an older style but very clean. I cannot complain. I have stayed twice a week every other week for the last 3 months now. I have not had one problem yet. I have got to know the owners and they are great hard working people. I highly recommend staying at the Park Inn.
I've stayed at the Park Inn dozens of times. I travel from Indianapolis to Linton to "get away from it all". I love the town of Linton and especially the Greene-Sullivan State Forest. There are only two accomodations in Linton, either the Park Inn or Allen's Motel. I've never stayed at Allen's but hear it's pretty basic. I feel very comfortable at the Park Inn, but honestly don't know why. The beds are very very cheap. The bottom sheets are not fitted and therefore will not stay on. The rooms are pretty basic. All that being said, for just over $50US/night, it's a decent value.....and there isn't anywhere else in town to stay.
Finally! I travel all over the U.S. and stay more nights in hotels and motels in a year than I do at home. I usually leave a place with a little sour taste in my mouth do to overpriced rooms that are ran down or just plain dirty. Now there is an exception to every rule and The Park Inn in this case is it. It was clean and cheaper then a tank of gas. Now I maybe a little bias because after speaking with the manager I learned that it is a local, American owed place that is owner operatod buisness. Good job Small buisness owner from one to another.
I stayed the first friday in December of this year. The room was clean and quiet. The price was good and the staff very helpful. I left early Saterday morning and forgot my coat with my wallet hanging in the bathroom closet. I didn't even make it out of town and they were calling me to let me know. They saved me alot of time and possible embarassment. Will definately stay again next time through.
Was pleased with my stay. I have a crew of twleve men and three ladies that stayed. All was happy with there rooms. I gave the motel very short notice of our arrival and they was able to work us in. They seemed very busy every night we was there but, my room was quiet and i slept well. Would go back again if ever working in that area again.
We stayed one night while in the area to see my fiancee's son in a play at the Shawnee Theatre in Bloomfield over the Independence Day weekend. There really wasn't much to complain about.
On the plus side:
The beds and pillows were much better than some pricier places I've stayed in the past. The room was spacious. The bathroom clean. The woman who took my reservation over the phone and the woman behind the counter when we checked in were friendly and helpful. I was charged a couple of dollars less than I'd been told it would be when I made the reservation. The facility was quiet even though there was a carnival in the city park right next door.
On the minus side:
The carpet was a bit stained in some spots. (It looked like a previous guest might have tracked in some grease or oil.) The carpet on the second floor where the vending and ice machines were located was really the worst I saw of the overall facility. That carpet was very stained and wrinkled.
A very nice and affordable place to stay in the area. It sure beat spending twice as much to be twice as far away from where we needed to be.
