Green Acres Motel, Rio Grande

The bathroom shower had mold, there was dirt on the tiles in the bathroom and dust along the ledge. The acoustic tiles in the ceiling were coming down. I would not go back there.

Very friendly owner/family running this place, loved that there was a fridge, microwave, and sink in the room. Definitely an older room, bathroom could use a renovation (Pepto pink and strange, musty smell--dreaded having to use the bathroom), but other than that, well maintained and clean. The pool is older, but acceptable...just watch the edges, as they are rough and unfinished. I'm honestly not sure if I would stay again...it wasn't terrible, but it could definitely use some improvement.

No problem getting a room for one night on a Friday. The owner was very nice. The room showed its age but everything was well maintained and working. We were impressed by the cleanliness - not a speck of dirt in the place. Had a fridge and microwave. I would stay here again and recommend it to others.

The room was as expected, the family running the place were very friendly. The pool was old BUT crystal clear, perfect PH and absolutely no chemical odor. My seven kids loved it.

Things have changed since the last review (in July 2002). The room (#105) was as neat as a pin. The room was vacuumed. The linens were fresh and laundered. The bed was very comfortable. The room was quiet, except for a car door here and there. (It is a motel, after all.) My only word of caution....there was a discrepancy in the cost of the room. The quote on the phone was $50 less than when I arrived at the motel. Most likely, an honest mistake, but inconvenient, nonetheless. The individual I spoke to on the phone several days before was different than the person at the front desk upon check-in. Confirm to the best of your ability the exact cost of the room. Have them spell it it out, if necessary! Otherwise, a pleasant and comfortable stay. I'll use this motel again.
