GREAT FOOD!! eating highlight of my in Elkins.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/21/09
Found nothing to dislike. The mansion alone was worth the visit. I ate in several places but this was by far the very best, not to mention the treatment recieved during dinner.

Wonderful Stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/11/09
We couldn't have asked for more! Our room was beautiful and our needs were attended to immediately. The gentleman at the fromt desk gave us a tour and the history of the house and area, as well as made excellent suggestions for activities in the Elkins area. We will definitely stay again.

OK, but not very polished
By Dan, 06/12/09
The appearance of the inn (inside and out) is very nice. However, during my stay it was apparent that mainly college students are running the place. They handled a room mix-up (their fault) very oddly, which resulted in me running back and forth from my room to the front desk three times -- I asked if someone could go with me to my room to avoid so many back-and-forth trips, but the student at the front desk gave me an expression that made it seem like I was asking for the impossible. Then when I was checking out, there happened to be several other people checking out and the front desk seemed overwhelmed and made errors on several people's bills. Finally, I was disappointed that the restaurant was not open on Mondays and Tuesdays.

A Gem in an Ordinary Town
By MojoGuzzi, 05/19/08
Would that more colleges had a hospitality program like Davis & Elkins! The staff were awesomely helpful, allowing the two of us to park our motorcycles under the portico out of the rain. The breakfast the next day was marvelous! From the view to the food to the service, man, what a place!

Nice place to stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/05/07
The Graceland Inn is extremely nice, the conference center rooms are alright, but much much better than any other places in Elkins. The restaurant has a nice menu and the food is delicious. We have stayed here 4 times and love it. Pay the extra $15 per night an stay at a nice place with a fantastic view from the porch.

This place is is great... I'll be back!
By JeffS, 08/28/07
I stayed at this beautiful old Gracelnd Inn mansion last night in Elkins. Alhough I had no experiences staying in Grace's suite, I had the oportunity to interview a housekeeper that has worked at the mansion for 10 years. She took me on a complete tour and described all the activities. She has seen Miss Gracie in a white dress walking the hall on the 3rd floor. Miss Gracie also walks the room I stayed in around the bed. She also states that the nursery, Nanny's room and Grace's suite are among the most active in the mansion. Children play in the nursery, get in bed with you and jump on the bed. They also sing the chandeler. The nanny has been seen tucking in sheets in the nursery on te bed. A butler also roams the halls downstairs. The housekeepers husband was in the basement getting her lightbulbs... he saw in the hall an old man cross and look at him before he dissapeared. The man was short, wore a long black coat, had a grey beard and walked with a cane. Great place.... I can't wait to go back. My advice... saty in the nursery room. It has two double beds and is beautiful as all are. The senator's room is most elegant. I took a lot of pictures. I loved it!

Been There - Going Back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/05/06
This is a elegant, victorian mansion that has been turned into a bed & breakfast/conference center at Davis & Elkins College in Elkins, WV. We've been there 3 or 4 times already and will be returning soon for another weekend stay. Our stays have been wonderful, service excellent and the food in the Mingo Room - wonderful. A wonderful look-back in time to the era!
