Not for the spoiled, but just what I needed.
This was a rooming house when I stayed there, but Nick Grivas, the owner, is doing the best he can to upgrade the place. If you just need a place to sleep while you work and have fun in Wildwood, then this is the place. Trust me, there are worse places you could stay. This is one of few places that has a bike rack. You don't need a car because everything is just a short walk away. Leave your car in the Park and Ride and take the bus into town. Who needs a pool when you have the ocean?
There were two public bathrooms on the floor where I stayed, and my room had a sink in it. Some rooms are bigger than others, and the corner rooms have lots of windows and are bright during the day. Why would you need a TV? Go enjoy the boardwalk or go to sleep. Bring a computer and get free WiFi from the nearby Enchantras. There is a laundromat on the corner that also has WiFi. The best part is this location. It's just down the street from Stewarts, and you can see the fireworks from your window. This is the tallest building on the block, so you can get some nice views. Open the window and feel the strong ocean breeze. Who needs Air Conditioning when you have the ocean air?
Usually it's impossible to sleep so close to the ocean for so little money, but this was actually the lowest rent around even considering off the island. You would pay more for a roach infested room near the bay. The Arlington was reasonably clean and had no vermin the several months I lived there. Nick is a practical man, and he runs a no frills operation so that blue collar workers can afford to enjoy the beach too.
