Riverboat Inn, Madison

Service - average cleanliness - awful location - poor/average value - awful

Stayed in 1985 when it was the President Madison Hotel. It was old, the rooms were quaint-sat outside at night for two nights in rocking chairs and watched boats go under the bridge. Dont think I want to come back to live music and noise.

We only stayed here one night, as we were on our way home from Tennessee. We were very surprised at how neat of a place we had chosen. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was a double queen, river view. It was decorated very nicely with soft, fresh smelling sheets on the bed. We loved the flat screen tv and the extra special touches added to the rooms decor. Our favorite part was the awesome deck out our door......and the view....Loved it and can't wait to come back soon and bring our friends.

We booked this for the Nights Before Christmas. When we checked in there was no heat except the faux fireplace. No remote for the TV and only two bedside lamps. They went out and bought a new remote and fixed the ceiling light. By Sunday morning we were in a very cold room! The breakfast was so so...I'm sure this is a fun place, just had a bad room maybe. It probably is more fun in the summer. For the amount of $$$ for the package, we would have liked a little more heat or compensation.

My husband and I stayed here for New Years Eve this yr. We had a blast. We were here 4 nights. The rooms are very cozy and very adorable.. Cathy has gone out of her way to clean up and fix up what use to be a real dump in my book. There was no way I would have stayed here when it was The President Madison. The entertainment on New Years Eve was really great And theyre was a ton of really good food. Everyone was so friendly both guests and staff.. The lady who gave the bad review saying never again I honestly dont know what her problem was. We had no problems with any electricity or water .The rooms may be a little small but It doesnt matter. Cathy has really done a great job making them look like little cottages. They all have elec fireplaces in them and the decor is really cute. I loved the fact that in the shower has a shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel dispenser.in it I thought that was so cool.. The last night we stayed I had a blast with Cathy we bowled from outside on the WII game that was really alot of fun and she bought in entertainment for the evening. I even sang with the guy something I never ever do It was a fun time.So if you read this and come to Madison I highly recomend that you stay here.find out for yourself I do not think you will regret it at all. And hopefully you will return many more times afterwards. Finally Cathy you have such a wonderful group of people working for you. they are so friendly and easy going and very helpful I wish I could have told them all good bye before we checked out. We are looking forward to staying again in the future. Thank you for making our New Years Eve a memorable one Tammy B.

I 've been here for two and a half weeks and have had a fabulous time.the view is spectacular. i have made friends for life. the staff is wonderful. new years eve was a blast. the musician was phenominial.the owner is absolutely charming. can't wait to drive back up here from mobile, alabama. i highly recommend this inn.

Did not tell us electirc problems in room.Kept tripping breakers.Have to unplug everything but 1 item at a time.Even to dry hair.Water ran hot and cold while trying to shower.Rooms extremely small for $95.Charged extra $10 for News Years party that consisted of a singer and 65+ playing cards and line dancing.If we had known that we would have declined.Left and went downtown to party.Owner very unorganized and knew about electric problems but didn't tell us until we kept tripping breakers.Guess I was expecting more for the price after reading reviews.At least hot water long enough to shower and be able to plug in more than one thing at a time.No clocks or phones in room.Will not be back.

The hotel is 1000% better than the last time I was there two years ago. Very nice rooms, great view of the river, and attentive staff. I'm planning to return this weekend!

We travel on our motorcycles looking for quaint, exceptional places and we found it at the Riverboat Inn. Kathie and her staff were more than accomodating. The rooms are decorated beautifully with B&B style linens, towels and furnishings. The view from the expansive, comfortable porches overlooking the Ohio river are fantastic. Live music on the weekends and a full service bar are an added bounus. You can't go wrong with this one! We don't usually go back to a place twice, always looking for new adventures, but.. Randall and I can't wait to go back to this one!

The Riverboat Inn is just what we had in mind for a comfortable stay and a view of the Ohio River. The expanded front deck provides for plenty of seating in a charming atmosphere. Truly friendly staff go the extra mile to treat guests like family. Attention to detail in room decor and cleaning was obvious. We're planning a return trip. ~Julie
