Loved The Oaks!!!
By Amanda Koch, 9/11/10
I read several other reviews and believe The Oaks must be under new management because it does not match our experience in the slightest. We can't wait to go back The Oaks was just a gorgeous spot. We could not have felt more at home while feeling like we had such a special private getaway. We canoed, we biked, we walked, we admired the beautiful views and setting. It was so romantic. The Innkeepers, Nicole and Marcus, were friendly, helpful and gracious. The breakfast Marcus made was just delicious and more than we expected. We can't wait to go back.....

FAIRYTALE WEDDING!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/3/10
We got married at The Oaks in 2005 - right after the renovations were completed. It was magnificant. The staff, at that time, were wonderful and Sean, the Chef, untouchable - Best Crab Cakes EVER! (we still haven't found any that come close). It is a wonderful place to get married - you feel like you are on your own private island - very special and very grateful for the experience. Still reeling from it! :)

MOST DEFINITELY WON'T GO BACK
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/6/09
The Oaks was all hype & no substance - there never was any interaction or sighting of an "inkeeper." Our room showed signs of neglect --- non-functioning fireplace, broken down, non-operational "antique" furniture, dead bugs, missing slats in window blinds, absolutely "no-frills" environment that did not match the prices charged. The so-called "gourmet" breakfast was forcefully limited to half servings to be split between my husband & myself, even when we asked for more food. There was a "kick you out the door" going away comment upon departure from a surly front desk staff who was glued to her computer & never bothered to make eye contact woman that ensured with 110% certainty that we will never go back. My husband & I travel a lot; this was without a doubt right up there with the top 10 worst travel experiences we have ever been through. Save your money - don't waste the effort; a total disappointment.

Great place to have a wedding
By Niraj K, 2/21/09
I had my wedding at the The Oaks in 2007 and can't say enough pleasant things about my experience and the staff. The personnel were helpful with the whole process and were very accomidating to our needs. The rooms were ok, but the setting overall and the proximity to St. Michaels was wonderful.

perfect and relaxing wedding!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/1/08
My daughter was married at the Oaks recently, and as parents of the Bride, we have only great things to say about this fairytale setting with a perfect staff!! The year of planning was stressfree, due to their organized, kindhearted and professional wedding planner, and the great vendors she suggested. The food was 5 star perfect all weekend, accomodating all types of dietary restrictions with ease. The huge bonus of having a wedding there is having a weekend to relax in a warm and elegant country mansion included in the package - there is no rush and your guests thoroughly enjoy the whole event. The amazing part of all this is the cost - within the range of receptions at a hurry-in-and-hurry-out hotel. This is also a great getaway place, close to St. Michaels, and with flawless, peaceful views of the water. Thank you to all at the Oaks for a beautiful wedding.

I wouldn't go back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/21/08
The rooms are really shabby for this price range. This place needs a makeover.

Hated to leave...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/20/05
Our stay at the Oaks was magnificent! My husband and I have been in the hospitality industry for years, so we are sticklers for service and quality. We often travel to B&B's. At the Oaks we loved the site, furnishings and the sense that we were traveling back in time. Even in its elegance, we felt a sense of comfort and kickbackness not always found in B&B's. We have been back to the Oaks for social events and they were likewise first rate. Great romantic but not overstuffed place for a beautiful wedding. Everything at the Oaks was impeccable. I enjoyed our weekend stay so much that I convinced my husband to spend Sunday night as well...
