A wonderfull retreat!
By ,
We come here and veg! This year I couldn't even go beach combing cos' of my broke toe, veging with that view is so worth it. This is good place for de-stressing, not for children or energetic teenagers. And there no elevators.

Our favorite place to be alone
By ,
My sister got married there 7 years ago and my husband and I go back every year on our annivesary. We have stayed other places out there but none of them compare to the Sea Cliff. The staff is so sweet. They know who you are when you arrive. The rooms are spotless always. It is a litte expensive for us but it is such a treat that we save up so we can go. We love the town and the peole in it. This is our favorite place to getaway. It is a 5 hour drive for us but worth every minute.

Our favorite 2 night getaway for over 10 years.
By ,
We have been coming to this part of the coast for over a dozen years. After the 1st couple of years we found the Seacliff. For us, it had the best features for the money on the coast. First, some of the best views from the room. One side of the room is all windows on the bluff, unobstructed views of the river, spit and ocean. They even provide binoculars for your use. The rooms are a good size with a sitting area with 2 swivel chairs and a small table. There is a gas fireplace for warmth and ambienance. The whirlpool tub is set in the vanity area next to a window that looks out over the deck. Included in the room is a refrigerator, microwave and coffeemaker. The rooms are clean and well maintained. This property has recently gone through a complete upgrade of the exterior and interior. The staff are always helpful and friendly. The internet specials make this a great value. Some people complain about the lack of phones, but we find this a welcome relief from the outside world. Having said all this, be forewarned that this part of CA moves at a different pace. Resturants in this area struggle to survive. 2 have closed recently. We have found it best to do takeout. This is a place to wind down and relax. If you are coming here to be pampered, you will be dissappointed...go to a Fairmont property. This is somewhere to go to take a walk, watch for whales, listen to the wave crash on the coast or read that book you have wanted to. You will come home feeling refreshed and ready for the world.

Always a favorite!!

Only an hour drive from my home, this is a nice weekend get-a-way. A lovely room with spectacular views. The hotel staff is always friendly and there are many great restaurants near by.

wasn't what we expected : (
By ,
we got there, and it looks nothing like the pictures! Not to mention it takes forever to get to. The fine dining is nice in this 585 populated mini-town, but it's expensive. Not worth the $140 (downstairs) or $160 (upstairs) a night at all-even with the jacuzzi! It had no sign to direct us where it was at, so we didn't even know where it was at first. The people around the town dont say much and you can't walk on the beaches around there because the surfs are too strong. It was clean for the most part-proven with a black light our investigation.

A little piece of Heaven!
By ,
I have stayed at Seacliff twice a year (March and October) for several years in a row (1999 thru 2003). I usually stayed for a week at a time. It was absolutely a beautiful, serene location. In all of my stays I've seen sea otters, sea lions and whales...all at close view. I spent my days sitting on the deck with my binoculars a book and a sun hat. (Bring your own chaise lounge for a more comfortable deck experience) On stormy days in March, I set up my chaise lounge inside the room and watched the storm unfold. I moved to Oregon for two years and owned a home on the coast; but nothing can compare to Seacliff. Warm, sunny days spent lounging on the deck. There's nothing more restful.....I can't wait to go back for another stay! ENJOY! Patty Conlan

New Years Weekend with Hubby
By ,
My husband and I liked the comfy rooms with the robes, fireplace, champagne, and hot tub. Very romantic setting, perfect for a get-a-way from everyday life with the one you love.

Great place to unwind
By ,
Loved just about everything about the place. First class greeting, with lots of useful information. The free Champagne/ Cider is a nice touch. The room is very well appointed, with a great view. Just wish it had been closer to the water to better hear the waves. Othe nice touches: Binoculars for looking at the beach, a double Jacusi, and a really effective gas fireplace. The Internet special made it even more attractive. We would go back in a heatbeat.
