Ritz Motel and Lodging, Paoli

this was the worst "motel" experience I have ever had. There were not a whole lot of options when we decided to ski Paoli Peaks, but we went with the Ritz because of location. Bad idea. First off, the bed is uncomfortable, the sheets are cheap, and you had the feeling of being in a sleazy 'by the hour' kind of place. There is a AC/heat unit literally inches away from your head and it goes on and off every 15 minutes waking you up. The shower was so nasty that I did not even want to wash the filth of the bed off me in the morning and just had to GET OUT ASAP. When I expressed my concern at check-out, she did not seems to care much and gave me examples of plenty staisfied customers - rather than addressing the DIS-satisfied customer in front of her.

Not clean, no phones in the rooms, might be a good place if you were comming from a bar and had no place else to stay.

I think the nasty poster who said the place was outdated was correct. If they wanted new there is French Lick right up the road. (and for only 150.00 more per night) THE PLACE IS 60 YEARS OLD! Sheesh. I always stay here. great rates, CLEAN rooms, the manager and her daughter are always helpful and very pleasant. Should something go wrong themanager is right on it. Our remote died and her daughter, the little electronic whiz came to our rescue and in two minutes we got to be bed sloths again. lol I always tell people to come here. It a nice place for a very good price. I recently stayed and noticed under the new management it is getting painted inside and out, gardening, improvements everywhere. I just hope they do not change too much. We like it how it is. And to mr or mrs nastyness up above you havent done this motel any harm by what you posted because those of us who love it and spread the good word keep em going strong.

While the motel is older the rooms are cozy and clean. The manager was smiling and kept us laughing throughout check in. We were given fantastic tourist ideas and the manager was very comapssionate about several points of interest and we chose to visit them and could see why. I have never stayed at a motel or hotelw here were treated with such great care. The manager and her daughter always kept upw ith us and sat at the table out front and talked into the late night hours. Just a great visit and great time and we will come back again. rates are great, rooms nice, staff a hoot and just an overall great experience. If you want a nice decent stay and not have to fork out big bucks and have a place that really is relaxing and enjoyable then this is the motel you have to visit.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay, especially the new room we stayed in. It is true that the place is older, but the room we stayed in had been remodeled - everything was clean and new. The service was excellent and the location was perfect (great view). We had complimentary fruit, muffins, and soda in our room. In the morning we asked about breakfast and the manager brought a warm breakfast to our room from a local restaurant. He told us that the place was under new management and they were remodeling the rooms and working to improve the service. If you stay, ask for one of the remodeled rooms and ask about breakfast. We are from California and have stayed in several hotels and motels around the country. We had a great time in Indiana and really enjoyed the excellent service and the new room.
