Lake Fork Resort, Gunnison

The cabins are true mountain bliss - the view of the Blue Mesa Lake off the front porch is awesome. Mtns for miles, vibrant blue skies in the day and purple at dusk. Peaceful, with nice cushy bed in it's own room, also a pull-out couch in lvg area, dining tbl w/4 chrs, kitchen w/ all utensils, mini frig, stove, microwave, coffee maker, and linens. Quaint towns close by for shopping (Lake City/Gunnison). Hiking for all levels to see the most spectacular views, and/or take a drive over Lake City Cut-off or south thru Blue Mesa (Ute area) and view wildlife in their natural habitat: elk, mule deer, coyotes, big horn sheep, and birds 6-9ish p.m. Drive to Rainbow Lake and maybe see snow like we did on June 17, 2006!! Manager on site - will take great care to make your visit memorable! In one word - HEAVEN!! (And we will be taking our adult kids there when we go back) P.S. Bring along a good book or two as TV viewing is limited. If you really need to fill time, the office does offer a variety of VHS tapes to borrow.
