I stayed at The Hanksville Inn June of 09. To say the place is a dump is a understatement. The carpet was dirty, worn out and pulled up in places. The bathroom was a filthy sh*thole. There was mold all over the celing and windows plus brown stains that looked ilke nicotine stains in bathroom as well. The whole room smelled like mildew. The resturant that was recomended no better. The dinning room was dingy, the "staff" argued and were very loud and anoying. The food left a lot to be desired. The chicken fried steak was served with a nasty nacho cheese type "gravy". The mashed potatos were covered tn the same goo. The vegie sidedish was wilted green beans. In a nutshell if your'e passing through Hanksville, UT keep on going and spend your money elsewhere; but do check out Goblin valley state park.
