Beware!!
We chose to stay here on our honeymoon this last July.
Big mistake. Staff was very unorganized and unfriendly. Within the first few minutes of arriving, I witnessed the owner yelling and then hanging up on a customer while I was waiting at the front desk to check in.
Then the hassles begin:
First of all, they claim to be "pet friendly", but when I left my dog in her kennel on the enclosed covered porch for less than a half-hour, management left a note instructing us to "make plans WITH your dog" for the remainder of our stay or we would be asked to leave.
Secondly, the blankets were disgustingly dirty and completely covered with hair, not to mention the rugs and carpets. So much so, that we took the blankets off the bed and went without.
Thirdly, a family member had to return home early, so we tried to cancel her room for the second night, giving well over 24 hours in advance, and they refused. They said they would have to sell the room to someone else in order for us to be refunded. Luckily, they did end up sellng the room to someone else. However, when it came time to get our refund, they refused to give us back the Tax portion, giving some vague excuse(even though they could not produce an actual refund policy).
Fourth, we rented a jeep from them, and ended up having to clean the thing 3 times, inside and out (at their own car wash, of course, at $2.75 a wash) before the owner was content to not charge us a $35.00 Fee.
All in all, it was a very stressful and irritating experience. The staff is very unprofessional and abusive to the customer. I highly discourage staying at this hotel if you wish to have a nice, relaxing stay in beautiful Ouray. They truly put a damper on what should have been the time of our lives.
