Extremely overpriced for such a dive!
By Krista, 5/17/10
We found this campground on the internet and camped here in May 2010. We didn't know until we arrived that there were NO camper pads of any kind. You're expected to just park your camper and vehicles on the grass/dirt. There's nothing wrong with this as long as the weather's nice. But if it rains (like it did for us) expect to be camping in a giant mud puddle. We arrived on a Friday evening after several days of rain so that the ground at our campsite was already extremely soft and soppy wet. It was not easy pulling a heavy truck and camper through such soft mud. But then it continued to rain all weekend so that by the time we left on Sunday our camper was literally sinking in the mud and my husband had to put the truck in 4-wheel drive to get us out! The roads leading into and throughout the campground are AWFUL. It was a rough ride the whole way. The gravel roads were more mud than gravel and the puddles were so deep and wide that it was impossible to avoid them walking or riding bikes. This is not caused by too much rain, it's caused by lack of proper road maintenance. By the time we left on Sunday the kids had no clean clothes left. Everything was covered in mud. I understand that the owners can't control the weather. But a decent campground should have at least gravel camper pads (and preferably concrete) and also paved or well-gravelled, well-maintained roads. This place is a dive any way you look at it. And for the "pleasure" of camping at such an establishment we were charged more than TWICE what we would've paid to stay at a state park which would've had paved roads and paved camper pads! By the way, don't expect to be charged the published website price. When you get there to check in, you'll be charged more than that. Location is right on the river which is nice, I guess.

I love Indian Springs. This will be the 14th year in a row I have been there!! Me and all of my friends from college meet there every summer. The owners are personal and amazing. Saturday night there is a band and it's so much fun!!

Great Trip
By Jason, 6/12/06
I've been going to Indian Springs every year for the past 8 years. It's a highlight of the summer for me and my friends. The campgrounds are grassy and full of trees, the river is beautiful, and even my city slicker friends have a wonderful time each year. This is a great place for kids, young adults, and anyone who enjoys being outdoors. The smell of campfire floating around the campground with the Ozark hills in the background make me so happy I found this place. I HIGHLY recommend trying it out!

I have been going there since I was a young kid. They have always been so nice to my family. The owners will walk around and talk to you as well as the parties they have on the weekends. I would recomend this place for families and for the young conoeing crowd.
