Bay Motel, Reedville

Anyone who writes an excellent review on this place is a mole. There's a sign at the front desk stating that there is no refund and for good reason - they' wouldn't have any money. GO LOOK AT YOUR ROOM FIRST. We were three couples and all of us had problems with this place. One room had no hot water; we had no A/C; other couple had no tp. That's nothing compared with the rest of the story. The rooms were filthy. No vacuum had been in any of the rooms, the linoleum was filthy, the toilets hadn't been cleaned properly, the sheets, towels and bed spreads were visibly dirty. The furniture is beat up and soiled. The tv cuts out constantly. The pool area looks to be borderline unsafe. No dust rag had touched the window sills in some time as they were full of dead bugs. There was a nonstop problem with bugs in the rooms, the towel rack fell off the wall when we went to get a towel. This place really is the pits. I would never recommend this place.

I stayed here for a weekend this past January with my wife. We made last-minute reservations while visiting relatives in the area, and got a decent room. It was pretty late at night motel when we arrived at the motel, which was sitting roadside. The attendant was a gentleman. He was very polite and cheerful, and even requested to help us with our luggage. The room was basic and clean with a freshly sprayed odor. It had the typical large bed, bath, and cable TV. My wife thought it was kind of romantic especially for couples looking to get away from it all. The only downside was that there weren't any restaurants or fast food places nearby, at least to my knowledge. Fortunately, we packed some extra food and snacks from home. Well, we enjoyed our stay here at Bay Motel. It was really good to see our family here too. Hope to come back soon!

We were afraid to walk in the room bare foot because it was so nasty. The window air conditioner didn't work and as you can guess, it was a hot night. The only positive was the shower water pressure. However the dirty, thin towels made up for it.

Proprietor changed the price of the room upon from that agreed upon. Roaches, spiders in the bed. Horribly soiled sheets. Broken fixtures, exposed wires. We would never recommend this motel to anyone. If you do try this motel, insist on seeing the room before paying.

My husband and I have stayed at the location several times. The owners live onsite so they are always there. The rooms are clean, beds are soft and the pool is in an ideal setting in an open field surrounded by a wooden fence, it is great. Lots of fishermen use this motel, so we did hear some 'language', but that is not the motels fault....men will be men. This is just a place to sleep and bath while taking in the sights and sounds of Reedsville and Tngier Island. Give it a try, use your money on the fun stuff. Heck for less than $60 we were more than satisfied.

There were too many bugs, the rooms were not clean enough. If someone asked me to stay again. I will not sabotage this business, but I do not recommend it. I have to say no. The price was good for the Bay Motel in VA.

We came down to fish in the Smith Point Sea Rescue Fishing Derby and thought the Bay Motel would be good enough accomodations. The nighmare started when I checked in first and told the manager my to leave the reservation on my buddies credit card until he arrived that night and would be paying cash. The Indian kept coming down to my room harassing me asking where is my money. The rooms were not clean the linens were dirty and stamped Walter Reed Hospital, no wash cloths, roaches and filth. We returned from fishing on Saturday at 6:00 PM and had room had yet to have room service. We talked to fellow fisherman staying there and found out they charge differents prices per night (1 person paid $30.00 per night; 1 paid $35.00 per night and they ripped us off for $69.00 per night). If you would like to stay in a dump with price gouging and all the roaches you want I would highly recommend the BAY MOTEL and tell the sorry management I sent you.

We were forced to stay in this motel due to no other rooms at the B&B's in town and our car broke down. The room smelled of urine and clorox bleach. The desk clerk didn't speak english very well and gave us wrong directions to a marina. Young men partied most of the night and complaining to themanagement did no good. I rate it a zero!

Bay motel is close to the Buzzard Marina where we took our Tangier Island cruise. Our room was clean and neat and the pool is nice.
