Flint Oaks, Fall River

This place is truly special from when you drive over a low water bridge and the road winds through beautiful trees to get to the resort. Dining room has Interesting menu with amazing food. We always allow time to have a drink on the covered deck overlooking the lake...my 95 year old Mother's favorite spot. Flint Oak is an adult retreat who welcomes kids--our grandchildren love the pool, hiking and catching fish off the concrete patio. Older grandkids love joining in shooting games and attending Ducks Unlimited events. Part of the charm is being away where you can focus on family and friends--and of course their hunting and fishing and world class facilities. Although we live fairly close (45 minutes), we find a weekend there is more relaxing than going to the Lake of the Ozarks or Grand Lake or Kansas City. It's the best.

This place is in the middle of what seems like nowhere, but when you are there you realize you are somewhere FANTASTIC! I went with my husband who is a advid hunter. Although I just relaxed in the lodge, the grounds were stunning and the food was delicous!! My husband had a great time on his hunt and we have plenty of take home birds for later. His guide was knowledgeable and eager to make his hunt good. I know he will becoming back and I will probably come too.
