Historic all right
Yep, it's history. I will never stay there again. The clientele are trashy and too poor to afford the Hampton Inn. I stayed there because of the namesake and for what I thought would be a jump back in time. Quite so. The staff member at the desk was extremely sterile and borderline unfriendly. I also did not like the sign outside that said "American owned & operated." I thought perhaps they meant to take a swipe at the more successful tax-paying indians who own motels in the area by claiming that those brown folk are not "real americans" or "not american enough." The name of the motel is supposed to conjure up images of what Route 66 used to be like. Yep it did. WASPs riding around in souped up 50-year old cars looking down on people with any melanin. Wake up backwoods people, this isn't 1950.
