Not a Good Night Sleep
Planning to stay one September night at the Bryce Canyon...could not get a room at the Ruby's Inn..found this place in Hatch.
Arriving after 7PM.,the office was closed!? After making few calls to the cell-number left at the front door..got through. Got $5.00 deduction for the inconvenience but did not get the Cabin that had booked for...it was given to other guest.
All in our party were up around 2 in the morning..it was absolutely FREEZING in the cabin!!!..the early forecast said 37 degrees..seems like 33..now we all were bundling with winter wears. The heater kept blowing cool air out..trying to adjust the temp but did not seem to work..finally unplugged the unit. Thinking about sharing some heat from a hairdryer for a few seconds..but there is no hairdryer in the room. Since it was too cold to be able to sleep...we jumoed in the car at 645AM for some heat. We waited until 7:30AM for breakfast.
Breakfast was enough with oatmeal, bread, banana, apples and good coffee.
We had mentioned about the 'NO Heat' situation to the owner. From the respond we received, the owner did not seem to realize how cold it was. We tried to forget about it. Other than that, it was a friendly atmoshere during breakfast.
The sad part is the rate at this place is very much in par with the Ruby's Inn. If you know your plan, do not wait to find a hotel.
