Bryce Country Cabins, Tropic

After traveling from Zion National Park to Bryce, with a stop at Red Canyon, we arrived at the cabins around 2 PM, only to find noone there. A sign on the door of the residence said they'd be back in a few hours! Great. Now what? Sit around waiting to check into our room? We wanted to clean up and get to Bryce Canyon. Also, the rooms were small, the doors didn't close properly and I couldn't get the gas heater in the room to work - and noone was ever around to help. Next time I'll stay at Ruby's Inn. It's hectic there, but at least I'll get some service.

We had booked a cabin in May, and faxed our credit card information to confirm, and received an email. When we arrived on time in September we found that no reservation had been held for us. In fact they could not find any record of us at all. They suggested a motel 24 miles back from the direction in which we had come! Luckily we found a place during this crowded season that had a room and was only about a mile from the Canyon entrance. We recommend "Bryce Canyon Pines" Motel. It's friendly, has a nice restaurant, internet access, good rooms, and a convenient location!

I booked a cabin in March by sending in the fax with credit card AND calling the owner to confirm. I received a confirmation and my credit card was charged. My vacation was in July so I booked early and emailed the owner in June to reconfirm. I waited 2 days for a response in which they told me they did not reserve the cabin for me because they could not charge my card!!! I faxed my charge proof to them. They had full voice mail, no response by fax or email until 2 days later "sorry we did not know it went thru, we will credit your card"...One week before my vacation!!! They ruined my vacation and don't have the decency to call me. Stay away from this place!

This place will require an upfront deposit and not return it if you change less than 3 days before the FIRST day of your stay, not 3 days before the canceled date. In fact they will charge a cancellation fee on top of the deposit they keep. Their staff is rude and nasty, and they retroactively change their rate to match what they charged you. If you need to shorten your stay a day you should leave and not notify them to save money. (it will still cost you the day) I travel around Utah a lot and have never found such a dishonest place as this. AAA has been notified of this dishonest merchant. There are plenty of other places nearby and in Panguitch.
