Bristlecone Motel, Big Pine

Origionally We stayed at Big Pine as a go between the "big parks" but found this area beauitiful with great trails,( friendly, helpfull, reasonable, bussinesses), something for the whole family. Will definitly make Big Pine a focal point on a future vacation. We lost one of our van keys at High Country Market laundromat, back in Michigan learned the key contained a computer chip and was worth a small fortune. Contacted Manager Chris Holt who called Bob (Maintainance), They not only found the lost key but mailed it back to Michigan. Apply this type of Big Pine hospitality to your vacation and you can rest assured, you picked a great area. Thanks, Barry Schihl

I visited the Bristlecone Motel when I visited the Owens Valley area to do some journalism reporting for an assignment for a university course. The rates were very reasonable for a student budget. The town and staff were very nice, and accomodating. The place was *very* clean; the non-smoking rooms were very pleasant. I would recommend this motel to anyone who wants a deal for a good night's sleep.

This was a basic roadside motel but very very clean and close to all local attractions. Helpful staff, updated rooms and bathrooms and able to park right next to our room. Do not go to the restaurant across the street (Rossi's), it is very expensive for what you get ($16 for spegetti)---go up to Bishop to eat.
