Looks Can and Are Deceiving
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/3/11
Wow..... beautiful place, but we had to clean our rooms for over an hour before we could use them, and the pavilion was a complete dirty mess. We usually enjoy staying there, but it was filthy this time around and not to mention the toilet, it had been used, and not flushed. YUCK!

The absolute BEST
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/14/10
This a perfect place for group get togethers. We had the whole lodge for our gathering. Rooms were very lean and decorated to suit anyones taste (just need to know which is the one you'll like) Most are outdoor themes which goes along with the lodge's beautiful setting. Fabulous kitchen & decks with plenty of seating. I really hate to tell people how neat this place is because when news gets out, it will be even harder for our group to get it booked. Wonderful friends, familly, music, and facilities made it a perfect weekend.

Beautiful Place.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/13/10
I was a guest of an awsome party at Cedar Stone Lodge. What a great place! We all admired the great kitchen with top of the line appliances & finishes. We all want one just like it. The decor of the lodge is luxury but rustic. The large group area was a wonderful place, has a few areas you can get to visit, great dancing area and worked wonderful for the great music that was played. The views from the lodge was also great. We were there in the early spring, I can only image how beatiful it would be in the spring, summer, fall or even with a light snow. We really enjoyed it. Are seriously considering using it for our own parties.

Annual Gathering
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/13/10
Cedar Stone Lodge is an absolute treasure! We first contacted the lodge when I was searching for a location to hold my husband's 50th birthday party. I wanted a location that was as special as the occasion. From my first email contact, Julie was professional and helpful. She helped me coordinate and schedule reservations for our friends and family. We enjoyed ourselves so much, that we have decided to make this a yearly (quite possibly twice yearly) event! The lodge is spotless! The kitchen is a dream to utilize - sub zero fridge, wine cooler, marble counter tops and Viking Range. Every room is unique and offers wonderful water pressure and HOT water!! I took a late morning shower, and both the water pressure and temperature were perfect. If you are looking for a special venue that offers beauty, tranquility and class - then this is the lodge for you. We were offered the use of this lodge and were NEVER made to feel as if we were watched. Our friends and family are responsible adults and we took great care to make sure that we took care of their facility. It is true that coolers aren't allowed in the building, but this is due to the beautiful wood floors. We just left coolers on the porch, and never had a problem. I have stayed at some of the priciest hotels in our great state - NOT ONE of them compare to Cedar Stone. I would (and have) recommended this facility to others, and I will continue to do so.

Yearly Trip
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/13/10
Our group has been coming to CedarStone for at least 13 years on an annual basis. We have stayed here under two different managements. We have always been treated with the utmost respect. The management basically leaves the Lodge to our use and does not interfere with our reunion. The building is very clean and neat. They are constantly improving the facility. It is a great place to get together. The only negative things I could say about the facility is that they no longer provide meals during your stay and coolers are not allowed inside the building. Otherwise, every one that works there has been efficient, friendly, helpful, and willing to go the extra mile to make sure that your stay is what you hoped.

The perfect place for the perfect gathering
By Corey, 3/13/10
For the second year in a row, attending a very special gathering of very wonderful people has been made even more spectacular as a result of holding it at the Cedar Stone Lodge. Every aspect of both of my stays, from booking my reservation to bidding farewell couldn't have pleased me more. The friendly, courteous staff handled all the details and arrangements for me, personally, as well as for the whole gathering, flawlessly, professionally and with great care. The facilities and grounds are all well kept, without looking "worn", and the rustic ambiance is perfectly suited to the beautiful, surrounding countryside. The room was immaculately clean, warm, nicely decorated, and ever so comfortable. Great water pressure, too! (A pet peeve of mine. Have to have good water pressure!) After our first gathering, last year, we decided, immediately, to make it an annual event at the lodge. Now, just after our second event, there is talk of gathering twice a year, due, partly, to the wonderful times we all have had during our stays at this resort. For families, or a group of friends, or anyone looking for a great place to spend some time together, the Cedar Stone Lodge is the place I'd recommend, wholeheartedly !

Rustic, relaxing, extremely customer friendly
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/3/09
We took Marlene's wheelchair bound parents (78 & 80) for a three-day mini-vacation to show them Shannon County's unbelievable scenics ranging from Alley Spring to Chalk Bluff. In addition, her father's relatives lived in the area when he was a young boy. Revisiting his grandfolk's homestead at this stage in his life was a highpoint of the trip. It would not have been possible for Lloyd and Faye to make this trip without the handicap facilities available to us at the lodge. The Lodge saw to our every comfort for them including a room with handrails in the bath. The kitchen facility was exceptional, firewood was at the ready for a fire every night, and the rustic setting throughout the entire lodge set a mood that had all our conversations aglow on the return home. In fact, we planned a return in the near future. The latterof which is not unusual for me. I have stayed here numerous times and ALWAYS look forward to the next visit with staff that have become friends. Exceptional facility, exceptional staff, - all set in the heart of Missouri's Garden of Eden - Shannon County. In every way, a "Dream Vacation" thanks to the kindness and extra effort put forward by the Lodge's staff. Cliff Keeler

unhappy family
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/2/09
When we 1st got to the lodge we thought it was going to be a perfect place to stay. But as our family arrived from all over the country for the reunion and the days went on the management complained about something everytime we turned around. We felt uncomfortable being in the lodge and felt we were always being watched . We rented the whole place but were made to feel not welcome. We will never go back there and were relieved when our 5 days were up. Many of the family members left a day early due to the unfriendly management and bad attitude. We felt the manager was very unqualified for such a fine establishment

Cedar Stone
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/6/09
Hello, my wife and I just returned from a 4 day trip to the Lodge. We have been doing so for 8 years. We stayed in the Bunkhouse, all we can say is WOW! we loved it. We usually bring along about 25 friends and they were all well pleased with your efforts. Julie does a wonderful job,my wife does all the planning for our group and Julie is very helpful. We spent time talking with your staff and found them friendly and helpful.I would like to add that the grounds have never looked better. We know you have all worked very hard to bring Cedar Stone to what it has become and we compliment you.Perhaps someday we may meet at the Lodge ,we are already booked for next june
