Riverside Motel, Eminence

These are dilapidated, smelly, trailers/triplex turned "cabins". Mini Golf = mud pit with sparse weeds and rusty clubs. Beach is only near 4 of the trailer rooms and isn't in fact a "beach" but a stoney area of 10 feet wide, which you get to via an overgrown path. The fan was broken in our unit (#9), the lights were out in the bathroom, the frying pan was heavily soiled and the second "bedroom" had no alternate means of exit other than the door - thereby rendering it not truly a bedroom and unsafe. Also, units 9,10 and 11 are actually Highway Side, not riverside, and separated from the motel, swimming pool and playground by the highway, as well as being about 1.5 miles from the stoney "beach". The playground leaned like the tower of Pisa, and I hadn't the courage to look at the pool! The owner at the desk was not friendly. When I realized the arrangements would not work for us due to having small children, having concerns about crossing the highway and walking along it for .5 miles and having expected a RIVERSIDE cabin...she coldly informed me she has a 2 week cancelation policy. Despite the fact that we paid for 2 nights and would not receive a refund we spent only 1 miserable night there and left the following morning. I couldn't get out of there fast enough! There is a REASON their website doesn't show outside photos! Stay Away! PS- Fly's Fly's Fly's!!

We stayed here for two nights it was a nice change from the other establishment we stayed in the night before.(leaking roofs musty smell)We were celebrating our daugthter's birthday and had the cake and ice cream there. We needed a place to put them both and the owner's were more than willing to accomodate by putting it in their own house,which I believe is right there. The kids all had fun at the minature golf and also the pool. We would recommned it to anyone, just need to be on the ball to reserve your room it fills up quick.

very nice owners,who say they are retired but obviously still work very hard, made it a very pleasant stay. the large indoor pool gave us a break from the grandkids . The short walk to the downtown shops , canoe rentals, and restaurants made it possible to forget about driving in Eminence.
